Wagner intercooler HP gains...
How much hp does the Wagner intercooler add to a 335d with a JBD at 100%, or does it just cool temps, which I think would add more power...

Pay for my dyno and I'll let you know
Search reveals modest gains, but I would imagine if you do a tune / flash (not a chip) you could get more. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ht=wagner+335d |

PR has answered this question a couple
times. Seems that I recall he got ~306 rwhp on a dump in conjunction with a renntech tune. Axel, pls set me straight. |

Ok to set the record STRAIGHT I had clocked w the flash 306 I installed the WAGNEr IC and got 312 which I felt was low a YEAR later i decided to do another run I got the following after 3 runs 318 whp and 425 lbs/tq on the wheels ( i gather the Flash with the new cooling had to adjust accordingly during some time) i was finally able to get the correct readings for torque lenny from RENNtech told me how to get it. Gracias lenny
The first run a year later was 318/424, second run was 318/425 now mind these TWO runs were approximately 3 minutes apart, we rested the car for 10 minutes and we did the last run and we AGAIN clocked 318/425 suffice to say the WAGNER IC does work!!! If anyone has ANY doubt contact PIERRE LOUIS from the fest he came down this week to PR and I gave him a test run on the car and he is convinced that according to his words he will go RENNtech and WAGNER set up.

I have just fitted a Wagner intercooler to my 330d here in the UK. It defiantly feels better abit more firmer pulling but I have not managed to get it back on a dyno. My car made 273hp a month back with about 475 ft ibs of torque. Would be nice to see if it physically made a difference like what 335d saw

I dont Think you Will see much difference on the dyno. The FMIC makes sense when you drive and the air pases by the FMIC
At least thats my experience.

I monitor mine daily, before and after the Wagner IC was installed.
Stock IAT's were +2*F to +15-20* F above ambient. Wagner IC IAT's were -3*F to +9-10*F above ambient. It seems the IC cools down faster after the car has been sitting as well.

Do you think this is worth doing then?
I am going to be doing a cat back straight though as well but just trying to sort the order of preference out. Numbers are cool but I am all about the car feeling quicker Which would you do first... Don't fancy the PDF delete as I need it to pass the uk mot I emailed forge a while back and they said they tried to make a fmic for the d but the gains were crap so they never put it to production... I don't race and don't experience heat soak to my knowledge. I so very rarely push my car anyhow, it just wouldn't make sense to waste the money. I do look at my car a lot, and I drive it some, so those are the mods I go for. All of the suspension work is not regretted... I am on the verge of some exterior changes, and from there I think I'll put my money into preventative maintenance and the like... or maybe just be wiser with how I waste my cash on this rolling idol. :roll eyes: |

Amigos frankly Speaking if YOU DONT race or even run!! its not worth it for you, BUT if you race and live in HOT climates you need it cause you will get heat soaked every time

agreed, for the hot climate this upgrade would make sense to ease up with some temperatures, for others that live more towards north, well all we have to do is wait till temperatures drop down to 60F and we will get way better temperature exchange
