Hey guys... Picked up my 2014 Msport package 228i on Saturday from Mckenna BMW. Being that I work in the parts department, I went a little crazy and bought everything for the car right away.

I ordered what was readily available which is the the M performance gloss black grills, M235i rear diffuser and a set of H&R lowering springs from my buddy Zeek over at EAS (European auto source).

Suspension will be going on tomorrow, diffuser and custom muffler delete exhaust will be going on Saturday. If time permits, I'll be getting some wheels test fitted as well (18x8.5 et30 and 18x10 et35). Can't wait to start posting install pics.

Do me a favor. Take some pictures of the gear shift knob install. I just ordered the kit and want to be sure I can get the original cover off without too much trouble. Really appreciate!

Here ya go. Let me know if you need more pics. It's a pretty simple install, just need a tiny flat head screw driver and it'll pop off easy.

Yes I'll be doing a dual exhaust tip setup. Just picked up one of the tips earlier today and waiting to receive the other one tomorrow afternoon.

The springs will be different based on the front weight of the car being different. I believe however they will bolt in, just won't be the correct spring rates.

I would think that too, except the same H&R part number (at least for sport springs) is used for F-series 320i, 328i, 335i, 428i, and 435i. Those cars have extremely similar weight differences between them as 228i vs M235i. Obviously things will be different, but I wonder exactly how "wrong" the spring rate has to be to be unacceptable. Once you're spreading that weight difference out over four corners, I imagine the difference becomes less important.

We'll see how it drives after the springs. I already had the M sport suspension to begin with and I was sitting at 25 3/4" on the front and 26 1/4" on the rear. Don't think I've read any final measurements yet of how low they're going to go.

Where did you get the tips from? Are you putting them on the stock exhaust?

No the tips didn't end up going on the stock exhaust. Here is a new thread I made for the exhaust I put on my car:

You almost got me on this one. The shift cover is held on by a screw and does not snap off/on. A new screw comes with the cover Appears the head of the screw is a T-8 or smaller torx which I didn't have so I used a small flat blade screwdriver instead. Painful but manage to get old one off and new one on. If you get the replacement cover make sure you have small torx drivers, below T-10 or you will struggle to get this installed.
