9500ix + Laser Interceptors FTW

I recently sold the radar detector because radar is rarely used here anymore. More laser traps which render them useless.

I've used escort 8500x50 and 9500ix, I'm looking to sell my 8500x50 which I've only had for a week for $250 obo http://www.amazon.com/Escort-Passpor...sport+8500+x50 I saw a v1 on sale on the forum so wanted to get this sold at least before getting it.

What's the purpose of the v1 serial numbers though?

Check to see if an upgrade is available and how much more it'll cost to upgrade. If no upgrade then you have the latest version and your straight

Ironic enough, the V1 serial # can also check to see if the unit is stolen if you bought it second hand. From what I'm told, you wouldn't even be able to upgrade it then nor have 'warranty' per se for that matter. Just a lil heads up. So anytime you're looking for even second hand V1s, always ask for the serial number to check if it's upgradeable or stolen.

I currently have a V1, had an 8500 x50 before the V1.

The arrows really are useful. If I lived in a big city and didnt go on the highway much I would probably consider a 9500 just to cut down on false alarms.

I have the 8500 x50 and I love it. no problems at all and it's saved me quite a bit. It's amazing how far away it goes off.

Same here..I have both the V1 and the 8500 X50. But i use the 8500 for road trips because it has less false signals then the V1.

I've been using V1 for almost 20yrs and love it! I can't imagine how many tickets it's probably saved me over the years.

I've been using old school Escort 8500 for past 7 years. I would love to upgrade to V1 but i just can't justify spending money when my current one works perfectly fine alerting me.
