Still don't own one. But as far as I can tell no. Inpa can, Most scaners can also.
This thread may help. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=939150

Great, guess I will use the INPA cable to check. BT cable did say I had 2 shadow codes. Should I delete them? Just did the drive cycle so this may be a bad idea.

Rob, another option, if you have not purchased the INPA yet, is the following:
http://www.lemurmonitors.com This will state "OBD readiness" following a scan. It's very limited and I really dont use it much anymore. It's pretty cool though since you are able to use your iPhone or iPad. I use the BT cable for my car (was using the INPA software before it became corrupted) and an Actron scanner plus for my other cars. As stated before, the BT cable will not clearly state you are in 'ready mode', but it will clear the fault/shadow codes. Thus, allowing you to get to the 'ready mode' state after a drive cycle.

so there is no way to check rediness without buying something to test it? I have a bt scan tool and i live in ny and got catless downpipes like 4 months ago. i have the bms dp fix. if i install that, how will i know if the car is ready for the state emmisions test? I guess i can drive around for like 100 miles, but that doesnt seem very efficient.
