Alternatives to M Performance CF parts?
I'm interrested in chrome delete for my F80. I will not get the CF roof so I have no exterior CF on the car from the factory.
I have the two tone "black" wheels which are shiny black in the black areas so CF is not in itself an obvious choice. I'd be just as happy with black plastics. Now my question, have anyone had the standard pieces as the grill, sidevents and diffuser painted black by professionals? If so, is the quality good enough to not start to peal or look tacky immediately or after being hit be some gravel etc? I'm not going to pay around $4k for all the MPE CF parts, that's for sure. I'll maybe get the lip and grill if that's the only quality choice. |

If you take the parts to a good body shop, there should be no worries on the paint work. Ive had my grills painted on the past couple BMW's and never had an issue.

Use a good quality plastic paint and grilles etc is not a problem. Preferrably you should sand down chrome parts to help the paint stick. I have done it myself and have had no issues with peeling etc.
