Killed a HEMI

So I was on my way to dinner tonight and I took off from a stoplight a little quickly. Well I guess the late model 300M (with a HEMI and at least an exhaust) next to me thought I wanted to race, so punched it and between the traction control and a rough road, I couldn't close the gap- just maintained it.

At the next light, I turned off the DSC, brought the RPMs up for a perfect launch (just the right amount of wheelspin) and dusted him. He couldn't close the gap and I was actually pulling away a little.

I think he was a little miffed when he saw my license plate frame...

See this is what is fun for me....most do not get the "d" on the trunk...in the same way "most" don't understand the difference between a 328 a 335 and for that matter an m3 (he'll most drivers don't understand a non m car with an m on the trunk....and that's ok) so all that said would love to advertise that my car burns diesel....and would like someway to share that....would be very interested in a sticker or?? That says "bmw diesel performance"...."bmw diesel" etc etc...

Ps while I rarely find myself challenging someone on the road (I get baited a lot but don't bite)...when I do I would like them to know its diesel

That is why I have my license plate frame. I used one from the TDIClub and modified it. If you want details, PM me.

Do vinyl wrap on the lower of the car like BMW does that says BMW ADVANCED DIESEL or get smoke stacks on each side like a big rig, I've always wanted to add a real diesel horn to my car since it is a diesel...

I saw how you blacked out the TDICLUB on the top of the plate frame, very cool...I use to have a plate frame I got made on the internet that said SMELL MY DIESEL, My VW had all exhaust removed, smelled like a school bus...

It's not that people don't know what you're driving, it's that they don't care. Also, people at stoplight aren't trying to race you.

Yeah, I worked over one of the newer r/t models pretty good. Didn't brake boost or really plan on racing so he started with a car length or so before I was in it, by 70 I had pulled it back and put a good length and a half on it. They aren't slow by most measures, I think they would match up well with a stock d or maybe with JBD at 0%

True most of the time, but nonsense when they are racing you. Generally I'm the slowest one off the line so I get to see how excited most drivers are to get to the next light and for the most part they are VERY excited.

The JBD at 100% is a game changer...

Ditto. So much so that I just bought one myself.

Nice kill btw ewodzien. I did the same to a Infinity G37 a few nights ago. Had a full car by 50-60 then let off since we were coming into traffic.

Don't mess with the 300C SRT8. I raced one when I had my JBD at 100% and it wasn't even close.

I was wondering about that. Does that one have a V10? Supercharged V8?

No, they are naturally aspirated v-8s. I raced the older one with 425 hp, but the newer ones have 470.

Car and driver shows them as 12.6 1/4 mile at 114. That's not much faster than a d with 100% jbd and meth. At 114 though it would be out trapping the d by several mph. My 12.9 was only at 106. Other mags have reported only 12.8, not terribly impressive for 470hp/470lb ft and 20mpg on the greatest day. They announced a supercharged 6.2 good for likely well over 600hp, that thing oughta move nicely
