Does anyone here use a Sprint Booster for throttle improvement. If so do you like it and would you recommend it for the 335d, it has a 30 day trial so if I don't like it, I can send it back, should I try it...

I have a BMS Powerbox on my 330i, which does a similar throttle remap, and I have to say, it works. Nothing drastic, just a much more sensitive pedal. I like it at least....

I just don't think they're worth the price. Can't say it doesn't work as advertised but check out a few threads on the general forum section and see that it can cause some issues with your throttle sensors.

I know a few 335d brothers around here that use it so and seem satisfied so maybe they can convince you otherwise.

I posted regarding this a while ago.

I bought it out of curiosity. It doesn't eliminate throttle lag at all, it just makes it seem more responsive (emphasis on "seem").

Long story short, I don't think it's worth the cost. Sometimes I like it (day to day drive), sometimes I don't (driving like you stole it). Mine eventually started giving me issues (limp mode, or throttle not working at all), probably due to a bad connector. I took it out, and haven't thought about putting it back ever since.

I have one installed on my wagon and am very happy with the throttle response compared to stock. Any good bolt on for our Diesel cars will always be on my list to try.

I have one fitted and love the feel it gives to the driving experience. When I switch it to normal, the car feels lazy and far less responsive. I have had no issues with sensors or anything and I have had it fitted for nearly 2 years

2009 E93 335i Convertible

I have it. I does not reduce throttle response, it only amplifies the signal so the throttle opens up more at the same level of foot pressure. It is very addictive and fun. Very helpful going onto the on ramps and to get those confused looks from Mercedes drivers when they foolishly mess with me.

Is it worth $300? Nope. Am I going to return it? Not unless I find out it is the cause of my spark plugs getting super fast carbon buildup.

I changed my coils, spark plugs, did a walnut blast, added a BMS oil catch can (which works as advertised), Dinan S2, Dinan CAI, BMW Performance Exhaust, Dinan Intercooler, and finally, the sprint booster unit. Overall, very satisfied with the performance of the car. Rock solid and beastlike.

I think once I use it long enough it will only be used on an as needed basis and not all the time. Currently, I drive on the "green" mode and not the "red" (batshit) mode. But to each her own. You might like it and think it's worth the money. Personally, I would spend money on the oil catch can first before anything else.

So I decided that I'm going to keep my 335d and get an extended warranty because I wasn't having any luck with finding a '09+ Cayman S with decent miles and a color other than boring black or white. The prices on the used ones weren't in my favor either. Somehow if I do end up getting one, I feel like I'm going to miss all that good low-end torque that the diesel offers. The Cayman S is one of those cars where the fun doesn't start until you rev the shit out of it.

So here I am with a car that has this crappy slushbox. An Alpina flash for our M57 will probably never happen. I could get one of these actual tunes that supposedly increases throttle response/reduces throttle lag to the point where D and DS mode is actual useful but there's no nearby shop around my area that offers those tunes. I also don't have a backup vehicle where I can leisurely send my car's brain to the mad scientists in Canada and the East coast. So what to do?

I recently pulled the trigger on a Sprint Booster from Turner Motorsports so I can have the option of returning it in less than 30 days if I'm not satisfied with it. Buy it from Sprint Booster's official website and they'll charge you a 20% restocking fee for returning it! Hopefully this simple mod would help rekindle my love for the 335d right? Well...yes and no.

For one thing, the mod actually works. I've only tried it in green mode so far but I'll give the bat-shit red mode a shot on the open road when I get a chance. It doesn't reduce throttle lag but the better throttle response makes up for it. It's definitely not a placebo effect because I can switch it on and off to feel the difference. If anything, I can't replicate the smooth off-the-line acceleration the green mode offers when compared with the factory setting. Skeptical? Curious? Think I'm crazy (probably am)? If any of you near the LA area wanna take it for a spin, PM me and we'll work something out.

Now, is Sprint Booster worth $300? Hell to the no. I would of tried this out a long time ago if it was a third of the price but even $100 is pushing it. $50 would definitely be worth it but alas, it's currently worth three big ones so I'm going to keep trying it out and see I'm ultimately satisfied with it. You win Sprint Booster. For now...

Sweet pedals, Rocketchip is in CA they tune 335d, so does Malone and they have many tuners in CA, just overnight your ecu to a shop it will be returned the day after...
