Tisme's F80 M3 in Sakhir Orange (plus M4s)
OK, I went along to my dealer today and saw my M3 that I will drive on Thursday and take home on Friday.
First, these photos do not capture the true colour of SO, it is much more orangey than this, almost an orangey brown. Theres also a black M3 and a pair of white M4s. Also a 420GT! But SO wins ok!

I hate you Tisme.
Enjoy the small power difference coming your way. Still hate you, but in a really jealous way only. IRL would still buy you a pint.

Thanks guys, I'll have some proper pics once they have done teh PDI and activated all the systems.
I am still worried these pics do not reflect the orangey-brown colour; it could be my glasses anyway, more photos at the weekend and a video.

they looked like plain white so AW, I think.
Must admit I wasn't very keen on the black M3.

Looking superb Tisme! - You just beat me to it.
After a nightmare journey back from London I made it down to my dealer just after 7pm expecting nobody to be there (thought I'd try and grab a sneak peek.) Luckily the sales manager was still there so he saw me, grabbed the keys and came out to meet me. Wow oh wow! - absolutely fantastic! (Got to start her up) - so pleased with the colour combo, sophisticated yet so menacing! - The black wheels are absolutely crucial with MG. She still had the white shipping plastic on + shipping blocks in but my god did she look good. The quick pic's I took (phone battery was about to die - typical!) have come out really badly due to the position of the car in the shade with direct sunlight behind - better pic's to follow soon.

M4 JTD, you get to drive yours home before me, as I'm not getting to the dealer until 10am on Saturday.
But, I get my drive of mine on trade plates at 9:30am Thursday. I've concluded car colour is a very subjective matter and that one man's meat in another man's poison. Anyway, key thing is, we are both very pleased with our choices and would not want to swap cars!

In 10 hours I'll be at the dealer having a drive in my F80, and learning how to use a DCT box on a familiarisation drive, should be fun. I'll have a proper video loaded on my youtube by the end of the weekend.

I've just got back from my dealer having had my first 30 minute drive in my Sakhir.
Appearance The car looks fabulous, and I adore the styling. I looked inside a new 330d as I had owned one before and the M3 looks so very much better on the inside and out. I am confused by the colour of the car; when I saw it on Tuesday and again today, it definitely looks like a rusty orange, but my photos show it as either a vermillion or orangey red. My dealer says it is a orangey red, so is it my eyes, I don't know? But Sakhir Orange really is a lovely colour. Driving Bear in mind, I've only driven a 67bhp Toyota for the last 4 months, 425bhp was quite a change. The seats are very comfortable and I'd say better than my old 330d. The HUD is amazing, and so clear and easy to read and I'll leave it in M mode. With settings all on comfort, I'd say the ride was no harder and may have been slightly softer than the 330d. The driving position, seats, adjustable steering wheel and the feel of the steering wheel made me feel very comfortable and secure. What also struck me is the car is so responsive to putting my foot on the gas. Not having driven an auto before, I've already convinced myself that getting the DCT was right as the gear changes are so smooth (unlike the 330d auto I test drive 6 years ago). The car is an absolute pleasure to drive. The road noise seemed to be tyre noise, and was a bit louder than my 330d, but not too noisy. The rear seats are very good, but the headrests do obstruct the rear view; I wish they had been adjustable. Instrumentation I'd best describe the stalks on the steering column and the buttons elsewhere and plain, logical and sensible. Everything is so simple and easy to operate and the iDrive is significantly better than the touchscreen on the Toyota; some of us probably take this for granted. I really do like the BMW cabin styling, it is typically German, functional and not garish. Technology First, the iDrive has significantly more features than my 330d had and the new nav screen if fabulous showing far more detail and the iDrive response is quicker. The phone can now access the last numbers you dialled from the phone, and not the car and that is useful. The car still cannot display texts. I do like being able to draw on the top of the iDrive. There are so many features with the car that it will take me an age to master them all, and I'm sure I'll find some more surprises. I didn't really try the TV, Radio or sound system out as I was concentrating on the car, but I'm hoping the HK system will be good. Summary I realise this isn't a technical review, but I really like the styling, colour, instrumentation, performance and comfort and I'm happy that I made this choice of car (and dealer, who has been very good), so that's all that matters, right?

the car can display texts you need to setup notifications correctly to do it.

Thanks mate, any thoughts on engine sound and exhaust note, did you have a moment to pop her in Sport+?
Agree on the colour, the (great) don't really do SO justice. Its much brighter and metallic in life in the sun. On an overcast day it can look a little rusty coloured but its nice to have the change.
