Btw, regarding the "bigger X5" under the cover you spotted few days ago: it might actually be X7 mule (with stretched X5 body - strictly for the chassis testings). The mules will be out soon. Real X7 prototypes (with genuine X7 body) are expected to roll out later this year. |

It dominated global business headlines also. The Chinese business programmes were more excited at the prospect of the X7.

Great news about adding more US jobs.
Now the not so great news is why does BMW thinks they need another model like the X7. Do they really think the US need another GM Escalade? |

Well customers can be reassured that the X7 will be designed without constant use of a ruler.

The Escalade drives like a POS. It's a proper truck and feels like one. The biggest thing it has going for it is that it is huge and very comfortable for the passengers.
The MB GL Klasse is worlds ahead, luxurious and comfy, but still handles like a barge (at least the first gen does, I haven't driven the 2013+), and is boring to the point of putting the driver to sleep. While I don't imagine the X7 will handle like an X6, I have confidence in BMW that the X7 will also defy its size in how it feels to drive and handles. I still believe BMW makes driver's cars. It will be a good choice for the family man who wants himself or his wife to drive an upscale luxury SUV and still enjoy driving it when it's his turn to drive. Lol @ "constant use of a ruler" |

Scott, your signature "XS" related to the recent BMW news makes me think that the luxury SAV concept-car seemingly to be unveiled at Shanghai might be called XS Concept, which would be consistent both with a former BMW concept-car also within the luxury segment albeit a 4 door coupé (the 2007 CS Concept) as well as with the vehicle's breed (X standing for SAV)

Personally do not like the profile. The front is nice because it can actually pull off the headlight connecting to the grill directly without looking too awkward. Regardless, BMW is lucky that all its competition in this class of vehicles look like crap...With that said, BMW wins this category.
