I might grab a HC Charger as a DD, but would prefer and might holdout for a HC Grand Cherokee. I'm still ambivalent but really attracted to the concept, and plus I'm a proponent of American Muscle. Is anyone else here seriously thinking about getting a HellCat?

A HC GC would be real nice. I see that coming. Has to come.

I had a GC SRT8 with the 6.1L and it was not the greatest DD. They put a 3.73(?) final drive to help with acceleration and it would barely get double digits gas mileage around town (coupled with a tiny 17 gallon gas tank made it very frustrating always watching the gas gauge). I am sure the new 8 speed autos help a ton with the gas mileage but the newer GC seemed to have gained a ton of weight and the Hellcat version would push the weight even more. It would be cool and I would love to see them make it...but I just don't think it would be a great DD.

Ditto, in fact, I remember seeing you on the SRT8 GC forums. I too had one as a DD, the 2006 which was the first model year. All of the negatives you articulated coupled with the first model year release rendered the vehicle an awful DD. It was much too clunky, unrefined, and brutish for a DD. My expanded/extended warranty was defintely put to good use. Nonetheless, still one of my favorite vehicles of all time...
