Funny how America is releasing some seriously badass cars, and we've got BMW fanboys in here immediately discrediting the car without it even being available yet. Come on guys.
'Murica!

I don't discredit. I just state the facts.

That's the AMG/Caddy lovers' excuses several yrs ago when M beat them.

Give them credit when it's due. Look is subjective. Performance numbers cannot lie.

It looks like old school America with a few out of place stick on carbon fiber bits. Also I find these huge spoilers to be ugly on a sedan - they should just go with Active Aero like the Panamera.

I don't know exactly why, but the style conjures up memories of the early '80s Buick Regal Grand National.

2) The dealer you traded it to will likely sell that car for over $70k as you could have if you sold it privately.

Trade-in values for luxury cars are depressed because the dealers know that the people who own them are happy to piss away money and will take whatever they are given. My observation of the vast majority on this board confirm that. Retail values are another story. As noted before when I sold my 2013 M5 I beat trade-in by about $15k.

Preach 😎. People have to understand, buying a new car is the worst investment you can do. But there are multiple things you can do that makes sure
Your investment doesnt cost you "30k in 2 years", like selling the car after 2 years and selling it to a dealer. Worst mistake.

Buying a car is far from an investment.

No thanks. I don't like the exterior or interior design. And at the end of the day...it's still a Cadillac and they are still measuring against the Germans.

Sure, it has more power. But for me, I don't intend on racing anyone in my M5. So, I believe the HP #'s in these super-sedans are getting to simply be for 'bench racing ' and bragging rights.

But ultimately.... To each his own. Just not for me.

Caddy? No thanks... If you want the hp bragging rights then Hellcat it is. I'll take the less powerful and slower M5.

I agree they deserve credit, seems like everyone is catching up and BMW needs to make a paradigm shift again and I suspect they might be with all the R&D into hybrid tech. Whether this true, will play out. But let's see how it actually puts the power to pavement. If it's done well, these cars will be all over the roads as a competitor (deserved or not) to the M5/6 at half the price I'm guessing and wanting to race on every freeway or stop light. The interior materials are cheaper in comparison I think, it's another performance car at the cost of luxury. I know that too is in the eye of the beholder, but I still don't believe anyone does it quite like the Germans (+Italians, et al.) with respect to both. That might be changing, but isn't true at the moment, again... imo.

For those that don't think it's direct a competitor... GM thinks otherwise. Now, my car hasn't even been built yet and the new CTS-V promos are impressive, but haven't swayed me. I'm betting that the interior will be the same old GM stuff. I've sat in the new Z06 and it's better than the old, but still not up to par. Perhaps, I'll eat my words and this car will be a BMW killer, then I'll consider buying American again. I actually hope that's the case, but I'll wait to see what actually is and can do..

Garage List
I just traded my '14 C7 Corvette Z51 3LT white/red in for a '13 M5 after 3 months of ownership. There was really nothing i hated about the corvette, but I never really fell in love with it. It's the special feeling in your hands while driving a M that is just indescribable.

I test drove the same car compared to the E60 M5, and the only thing that impressed me was the stock exhaust note. Lol!
