What is interesting is how much each dealer differs on information you would think is common throughout all of them.

I can say from my experience after the service I felt a pretty big increase in torque and can now hear turbo sounds that I didn't before. After service I drove the first 50 miles the same as I had during the break-in process. I suspect that what they turn on is the additional torque function and perhaps offer up more boost. All I know for sure is the service took over an hour from the time the tech got it because they had to reprogram the car and when I got it back it had more power than before. I had a baseline to work from also because I spent 2 days driving it a M School so I have driven several M2's.

I can also say that after the service my back wheels started behaving in a strange way. They are now able to spin faster than the speed at which the car is travelling. I believe this is the cause for the second strange effect that I'm noticing which is the back of the car becoming misaligned with the front and seemingly trying to go to the outside of curves while the front just remains where it is supposed to... I don't know why but I kind of like the effect! Is it normal?

1200 miles service...
Hi Gents,
Here are my two cents: Just came back from Germany where I picked up my M2 AW on 10/13. Tried to have the service done in Lausanne and Innsbruk but the dealers did not have the 'special' transmission fluid. Finally had it done in Munich on 10/26 before returning my car, and paid around $ 500.00 that my dealer will reimburse once I receive the car sometime in December at the PC. This is the detail (in German) from the service log: -hinterachsgetriebeöl wechseln -Motoröl und ölfilter wechseln -Deaktivierung Einfahrkontrolle Hope this helps.... |

Rushed out of the dealer... Did they not do it correctly? I see I'm missing this twin turbo line as others have had on their invoices?

I finally passed 1000 miles and should bring my car in for service soon, but the car tells me service is due in 9000 miles, nothing about a 1200 service. Anybody else have this?
I'm gonna bring it in either way, but BMW charges for the service if it's outside of the scheduled maintenance according to the car, right? |

Just reporting my breaking in service. Picked my 17 M2 from South Bay BMW today and this is what was done:
Performed oil and filter change Differential fluid change Nothing about deactivation of break-in controls. I brought my car in at 950mi. Honestly don't trust these dealers, about to check the oil to see if its even fresh. Last edited by HDilla; 03-07-2017 at 03:32 PM.. |
