M4 CS tire recommendation for high speed tracks
I've got the super sports on it now and they're doable along with the MPS4S but still at their limit all day long. Need something with better lateral grip.
EDIT: When I say high speed tracks, I'm mainly talking about higher speed tracks like Watkin's Glen. Most tracks are high speed, so I feel a bit foolish saying that now. Last edited by NYG; 05-04-2019 at 08:46 PM.. |

If you want to stick with the 763M wheels, the PSC2 are the best option for a street/track tire, the CS was actually designed and tuned for those tires.
My car was mistakenly delivered with the PSS, so I drove on them for a little over a week before the dealer swapped the PSS for the PSC2, the PSC2 make a significant difference on how the car feels and behaves. That being said, I find the PSC2 rather costly to use as a regular track tire. I have a dedicated set of Apex EC-7 wheels shod with Nitto NT01 in 275-305/35R18 sizes, I find them to be an excellent overall compromise for dry track use. BTW, I'll be at the Glen with PCA in two weeks, what an epic track

Mine was delivered with PSS as well but I'm ok with that because I don't feel comfortable on wet roads with the Cup 2s. I was thinking about Trofeo Rs for the track but they're so ridiculously expensive and I hear they'll last about two track days at most. Also considering maybe getting full on track slicks like the GT4, the Hankook F200s. Definitely want to get a set of wheels too. Are you running square for the track? Got enough traction with the square setup? |

No, most definitely not (assuming you are referring to the rear wing). I find it terribly obnoxious.
Further, the CS is aerodynamically balanced in stock form, with downforce similar to the GTS in "street" setting. If you install the GTS rear wing, you would also need to fit the GTS extendable front lip to keep the car aerodynamically balanced.

Agreed. I've said it many times, I just don't understand why BMW do not offer them in this colour .

Silver works great with Lime Rock Grey: I've thought of a square set of 19 x 11's and they do a 305/30 x 19 in NT01's same diameter as a 265/35 x 19. It's whether you can get them on the front without scraping on the guards (sticking out too far). Last edited by RevNev; 05-06-2019 at 09:49 PM.. |

Whether it's dedicated wheels+tires or replacing the tires of your stock wheels and using those, I suggest the RE71 tire.
**Much** quieter than the NT01 for 4-5h drives to the Glen, same performance, better road manners. I'll also be at that event with my CS, trying to shake it down... let's see how it goes |
