"Whatever parts or programming are needed BMW has begun finishing the vehicles and sending them on to us." Response from my SA, not sure if this is a canned response, but he sent this on his own without asking

Wow, went from QC to awaiting carrier assignment in a couple hours.

Hopefully, this a sign that the parts, issues, etc. are starting to clear up.

Good for you. Let's hope it clears up for the rest of us waiting in QC.

Here's the timeline.

Prod date is 8/11. Went to 153 late afternoon yesterday. Today, around 10am changed to QC. Refreshed around 12pm and got 'awaiting carrier assignment'.

So only about 2 hours in "website" time. (Just saying the website isn't real time and sometimes skips steps and/or stays on a step longer.)

Correct.

I'm guessing whatever was needed arrived recently and they're making sure the line keeps moving. Then, go back to the ones stuck in QC.

just spoke to the "Genius" she said my X7 is waiting for a part - it has been in Quality Check since July 30 - she has no idea what part - said the longest that she has seen is 3 weeks in Quality Check.

Wow this isn't good, My loan application is good until 09/3 after that I will have to run another credit pull and new rate. This isn't good. I need to start looking for a backup vehicle or maybe a 2022 if there are any left over

I've been in QC since Aug 5th. I assume cars with newer production dates will move faster because they should finish the work quicker and let us wait for the part or whatever rework is needed. It is better from a production POV to do so but not good for a customer relations POV. We have been waiting in some cases for months and having down payments back in April or May with the dealer order back to get the first allocations.

It is on us to make frequent calls to our SA (the SA will call the BMW regional managers) and the genius line. Eventually, it will impact and prioritize our problem over flowless newer orders in production.

Echoing the above, my SA spoke with the regional manager who noted they expect a number of cars to be released from QC between now and Monday. She noted 3 were released to “port” today - whether that’s all US builds or just X7s I’m not sure. I think I’m able to hold my breath a little longer but I’m definitely getting a little merino bay blue in the face.

Hope that's the case and not just a canned response...

This is exactly how we feel. Put money down at end of March to get the first allocation for an M60i from our dealership. We have a production date on 8/2 and still remain in quality check while later prod dates float through. It’s incredibly frustrating. Hopefully the vehicle makes up for it once it’s here- I can’t say it’s a great first impression for a first time BMW owner . ESP if that rate lock expires on the 28th and the vehicle isn’t here

I (and likely many) are in a similar situation wrt the rate lock. I just got off the phone with Genius and they claim the dealer's sales manager does have the ability to call into the factory and that I should try contacting the sales manager. At this point I'm just looking to get realistic expectations as to when the vehicle will be ready.

Yeah, agreed. Realistic expectations would be fantastic at this point. I'm honestly exhausted from refreshing mygarage so many time I reached out to my SA today and she says she nor her sales manager can get any further information since our vehicle isnt 'delayed' ... whatever that time frame means
