That’s strange, my ‘22 XB7 has speed limit assist, as did the ‘24 760i loaner I was just in. Are you saying yours doesn’t have this feature?

Many vehicles read the sign and set the speed to the new limit automatically. BMWs in the USA and apparently Latvia require you to hit the set button to adopt the new speed. If you miss the sign you could end up with a speeding ticket. There is a very muffled sound when the new speed is detected in the BMW that is easy to miss. Mazda, as one example does not require you to do anything. It is an option on all vehicles, so if not selected, you have to adopt manually. I am not sure, but earlier BMWs in the US may have had the option and the vehicle I test drove had it, but it may have been coded which you can't do on later vehicles.
