I deleted the resonator. After picking up my vehicle after an oil change, the invoice noted that there had been a modification to the exhaust i.e. clamps. So perhaps most won't notice, but some surely will

What makes you think that?

https://ind-distribution.com/product...rmance-exhaust

https://ind-distribution.com/product...-non-resonated

Look at the link for the pipes. One end is flange, one end is open. Then look at the link for the exhaust. It has clamps.

Same for Remus and 99.99% sure same with Akrapovic.
I am new here so please bare with me... so can I just take off the stock exhaust and put a new one on? As in bolt off oem and bolt on after matter as. See picture for reference.

If you do a full system it is bolt on. If you do a mid pipe or axle back it is cut+clamp.

This sounds great! Do you have the competition exhaust or regular X3M?

Pardon my ignorance, but does installing a midpipe require cutting? If so, can I put it back to stock by "clamping"? Since I'm leasing.

Any cel lights or emission issues? - I live in NY
Competition exhaust, although I think the hardware is fairly similar between the two. Emissions rule vary by state, but it will likely fail emissions with the removal of the secondary cat (which most full aftermarket exhausts remove). In Illinois, it's after 3 years for a new car, at which point I will revert to stock and no longer own this vehicle.

No CEL with this setup as midpipe and back is after the O2 sensor. Agree with allinon72 on the back to stock clamping, shouldn't be an issue at all.
This setup will pass nyc emissions? Since it's a cat delete?
It's appears New York owners really don't have many options here when they are due for their yearly inspection. A full cat back from Reumus or Akro will not pass emissions then?

What are the other options then?

Yes, noticed that.
Euro6 OPF system, 2021 same as 2021 all version G8x M3/M4.
Even more not equal length pipe since from downpipe it has to cross to left side to meet the Y-pipe.

Is the exhaust on our 2021 X3 M's here in the US any different than the 2020 versions... ?
