about time! I was waiting for a cheaper lip. At least now when I scrape the shit out of it, I won't feel bad that I spent 1k on a OEM lip.

Love it or hate it their will always be replicated parts. Whether it is wheels, performance or aero parts, replicas give the buyer the ability to choose and pay less for a product that otherwise would be out of their budget. By introducing replica parts like these it gives the consumer an entry level choice on products that are affordable and still great quality.
There is no need to see these replicas as a threat to the genuine pieces. This is because the people that want the real deal will always spend the extra money for the brand name. However, there will always be demand for the consumer who does not want to fork out thousands of dollars on mods no matter what vehicle they drive.

I'm really surprised that others didn't see that it sarcasm. What I THINK he/she was implying is that if IT IS NOT OEM, then many would say that it is a knockoff. I'm all about a person spending THEIR money where and how they want.

Thank you revartr and m3incorp...
I thought I laced my post with enough sarcasm so that it was dripping with it. It was far from an attack on the great products that our forum sponsors make. I currently have an order with IND for their products for my M4, and am currently leaning towards RKP's diffuser over the M Performance one. My post was commentary on the pathetic double standard that forum members display against Chinese-made products. Just because it's Chinese, it's suddenly labelled as a "knock off"? If it weren't for Chinese manufacturing at low labor costs, half this forum wouldn't be able to afford half of the material goods that they own. There's a market for OEM, premium aftermarket, and low cost replicas. law of diminishing returns is in full effect however, with Chinese replicas representing unbeatable value for the price conscious. Being an importer for almost 30 years, one thing is for sure, you get what you pay for, I mean china makes all types of qualities, from the worst dispossable junk to top quality products such iPhones or iPads, is a matter of controlling quality and manufacturing processes.
So not all Chinese products are poor quality, but you have to be very careful before you buy, do some research, mostly on items that can compromise your life like wheels replicas, or items that can compromise your car like electronics, but a spoiler or lip are just cosmetics, the worst can happen is being unhappy with the final product, without compromising safety.

I love paying less for mods. The markup on the OEM parts is up there a little much..its not about the money at all..its principal..even some of the forum sponsors charge outrageous prices for stuff that shouldnt be that high. $110 for paint reflectors? really? the parts cost is only $21.00 and paint labor and costs probably around $15.00 but since they are the first ones to sell them they can charge a higher cost so i welcome the chinese products because a lot of them are great quality.

I thought I read someone post about black OEM surround grilles being cheaper than a popular forum sponsor's painted surround on here.

they absolutely are. I just ordered a set Black OEM F32 complete grills for my M4 from BMW of Tenafly in Jersey. I just removed the single slat centers and replaced with my double slats and now i have a brand new complete set of chrome grills for an F32 that i can sell for a bit of return. They are the were $110 shipped total.. that "popular sponsor" is selling the painted ones for like $30 more.

I just hope the quality and fitment are decent....
Then i will definitely go for this instead of oem! $1000 is too much for putting in the front just making scratches! |

FYI some of the parts sold on here by vendors are made in China. And you folks don't care as long as you pay a premium for it. RKP made in America? Great, still overpriced. It's a shame "made in America" isn't what it used to mean. Labor is wayyy to expensive here to support any real manufacturing anymore.

I don't support buying this Chinese stuff BUT if what you say were true, then there would not be any AFTERMARKET parts. I would hope that those people that buy the replica handbags know that is what they are getting. It becomes counterfeit WHEN the company is trying to sell it as the ORIGINAL instead of the replica.
This particular Chinese company is not saying that they are selling the OEM BMW equipment. I'm sure you get what I'm saying. Quote:

Buy whatever you want. I personally don't buy replicas of ANY product as it's simply not the real deal regardless of the manufactures country of orgin.
Regardless of all that . . . Is 110.00 expensive? Is 1,000.00 excessive? I don't think it's a matter of price point so much as what YOU can afford or are willing to spend. No one should disparage another's purchase . . . Just smile and be happy their hobby is bringing them satisfaction. Cheers |

Yup the one thing that peaked my interest is the lip. Everyone tells me it sits pretty low and will run amok on it dealing with parking lots. Makes no sense to pay so much for something that can easily scratch or worse break.
