Its obvious why the pump is failing.....
If you read a thread about the HPFP problem, your HPFP will fail

having had 2 different 335i's with HPFP problems (the first one had more problems on top of HPFP issues so it was bought back), I personally do not believe it when people say "the isssue is overblown, it's not as bad as the forums make it sound..."

it's a huge f'in problem.

09 with 6600 miles, 2 HPFP failures. On my 3rd pump

Anyone who says "HPFP issue is overblown, forums make it seem worse than it is" is full of shit. This is my 2nd 335i (first one was bought back due to 3 HPFP failures within 1500 miles, among other issues). The problem is bigger than what it seems, not smaller. Think of all the people that don't go on forums that have issues.

2009 335i E93 M-Sport 6MT
2,870 Miles
April Build ('09) ED pick up in May
Started Having the long Crank issue a few weeks back
Last week got the Check Engine Light
This week the Check Engine Light went off on its own (have no clue why?)
Sometimes it starts without the Long crank dont know why?
Will be bringing it to the dealer ASAP - Iam thinking based on what everyone else states that it will be a HPFP, if it is then I will update the thread...

Looks like you can get another buyback with 3 pumps.
I'm just wondering why you would get another 335 after a buyback?

Seems like the majority of the 09 failures is from early 09 builds or late 08. I don't really see anyone after april/may build with HPFP failure? It could just be that recent builds like mines just doesn't have enough mileage to really tell yet.

July build 09 Msport (1900miles)
So far so good....

There's been Apr/May '09 builds with FP replacements.It's been posted there's a '10 535 and X6 that have had a FP issue.
It seems the '09s are worse than the previous years.

Nope, you can keep your class action suit. Ford owners did that with their Exploders. It was in the papers recently. End result after a few years of court proceedings: The Ford owners won their case: Yippeee. The Lawyer Firm handling the class action received $27 million. The 37,000 Ford owners in the class action each received a $500 voucher towards their next purchase of a FORD. The coupon was conditional too - including an expiration date. WooHoo. Let me get some of that.

I remember you getting your AW MSport getting delivered around the same time I got mine. I'm also a July build.

First long crank at 500 miles, SES light at 1,075 miles, new HPFP today.

There may be fewer with later 09 builds, but they are not immune.

Look three posts before this post of yours...my 335, May 09 build, hpfp replaced early october. Gotta give kudos to bmw northwest...I drove in, no-notice with the SES light on...at 9am on a saturday, they had the hpfp replaced and the car back to me by 4:30 pm that same day.
