Are any other mods necessary like air filters/intake tube(s), plugs? Are any of those available to increase the gains?

Other mods are not necessary but there are drop in filters/intakes available which would probably increase gains a little.

No mods necessary, but any additional will help for faster boost and power delivery.

Just finished mine, along with the Eventuri intake. This is my first piggback tuner, and I'm sort of astonished by the simplicity of it. Install is pretty easy and really hard to screw up.

As far as butt-dyno, meh. I have a heavily modified Hellcat and a Model S Plaid, and this will never have those levels of power. It was hard for me to really notice a whole lot of change. Maybe some quicker boost coming on in the lower part of power band. In addition to my other vehicle bias, I feel like the lack of spark/fuel changes holds the gains back. That being said, just adding some boost to bring the engine output to closer to what it would be in an X5/6M is nearly zero risk. I feel like this thing could probably even dial it up a bit more.

Well theoretically it should put out about 850, but the electric motor and engine have peak power at different rpm, so it's an average of both

I just picked up a 2023 XM 3 days ago, and now I have a check engine light on. The system says everything is fine... I don't get it

What it has to do with this thread?
You may want to check with your local dealer on that.

Sorry, I just posted to the first G09 conversations that I first came across considering I'm new to this forum.

I'm so thrilled with my bimmer and the drive experience is out of this world. It only has 3800 miles on it and I'm considering doing the JB4 tune after I get it tinted.🙂

I was just curious to know if anyone would know why the engine light would come on while everything checks out on the touch screen?

It happened before I started her up, I hit the red M2 button on the steering wheel just because I love listening to the exhaust and it only does it on Sport mode, and BOOM... the light came on... I'm just hoping it's nothing crazy.

Fellow members will be able to help you better once you posting at the proper thread.
But, in simple answer, these new hybrid system plus other new techs for EPA requirement will throw CEL for something as simple as loose gas cap.

This is the main sub-forum for XM.

Much appreciated! 🙂😉

I can't contain myself with how psyched I am owning this beast! It's so true, BMW is the ultimate driving machine.

I did hear or read somewhere that if you remove a fuse in the rear right side upon coldstart, it'll make the exhaust louder because it would keep the flap partially open. It's fuse 203 (7.5) to be exact. I was wondering how much truth there is to that and if that wouldn't throw a code on the dash.🤔

Its true. No code on dash. But if you have OBD reader it will read a code.

Are you still driving with fuse pulled? If so, have you seen any negatives?

Yes, only negative is having to put it back in when I take it in for service then remove it again after servicing.

My XM has been giving me some CELs lately...and they keep returning even after clearing the Codes.

SO, it's going in tomorrow and I'm holding my breath that it will be something simple or straightforward. With that being said, I removed the complete harness today and probably not going to reinstall...thinking about selling. Need to take pics but the entire package (parts/supplies/documents) are available and I will provide proof of purchase in order for Racechip to reprogram (they have a 24-month policy). Ping me if interested.

I should have written them down. The car's in Service Department now so will see what they say. I don't think it has anything to do with the RC but given the potential to poke/prod around under the hood I thought it best to remove the harness.

I might reinstall but for now it's in the box.

Should’ve note them down for reference.
Also, many guys on the internet doesn’t know how read and right away blame any product in a context of a conversation. Haha.
A recent discussion in the X5M forum where the owner is mentioning that something wrong with the engine and mentioned RaceChip in the middle of the post, 10+ response posts trashing RaceChip.

Seems like many doesn’t understand that even BMW have defects by itself.
They forgets that no one make things to last these days. Unlike the 80’s and 90’s where we can have things that last.

Yep, this is my 3rd Racechip from over the years and I've never had any issues with them. Hopefully didn't raise any red-flags...probably should have just gotten the results and posted afterwards. Apparently there's ANOTHER recall (something to do with Heating/Cooling software). I also had one of those Reduced Power warnings a couple of weeks ago after I disconnected the Lvl 2 Charger in my garage, but that went away after turning off/on.

I suspect the CEL had something to do with that warning and the charging along with the 100+ deg temps in my garage (Summer in Dallas, west-facing garage).

Should get update tomorrow/friday and will post. If I decide to make the RC available I'll just post in the Marketplace section.
