Mine does not have DHP and it has been stuck in QC for 5 days.

I've talked to genius folks y'day and per them there are no recalls or any other flags that they can see in the system. All they had to tell me is that nothing to worry, no issues, it is quite normal to be delayed for few days(waiting for a part, delivery logistics etc..), they should be completing the build very soon. Not really comforting to hear but no clue what is causing the QC holdup at the moment

yup, this is what happened at the beginning of production. aside from the turn signal recall (that was a few days) the QC delays were not vehicle issues, but part supply issues. i would take any "reason" the dealer gives with a grain of salt. production has typically been a black hole that DOES NOT TALK TO THE DEALERS. dealers will sometimes make up a reason because they do not know.

last year it was seating supplies and IAS.

Build date was 4/1. Went into 150 status 2 weeks before. QC for about 4 hours.

When did you get your 40i allocation? Did you have to wait long for it or was it immediately available?

I see you went into production 3/17, build date 4/1 so about 2 weeks. Just trying to figure out time from allocation to delivery.

I like that Skyscraper Grey combo with the 21” double-spoke M wheels. Looks sharp. We have the 2021 40i same wheels in Phytonic Blue. On our next one, trying to convince wife not to splurge $2k on the Ametrin when Skyscraper Grey looks that good.

I'll be joining the one week wait line in about 3 more hours!!! I'm not sure what to do now. I' seriously thinking to order another one from a diff dealer or ask the same dealer for another allocation.

I'm pretty new to all these. Any suggestions from experienced members in this community? should I wait for it to come out of QC or forget and order another one?

I think it's too early to give up. It could be as simple as a missing part. I'm gonna wait a few more days at least.

I placed my order from a dealer who had an open allocation. My dates are as follows:

Order placed - 3/3
Order flipped to 150 - 3/17
Build Date - 4/1
At dealer - 4/6

I may have some insight into the issue. I was going to take delivery today and they called to say it's not ready. They have 2 24's in and they tried programming them and both failed. I am guessing they are having issues with applying updates. Makes sense when introducing new code and new hardware. You would hope all this would have been tested.

I met with my local dealer today and did my build order for my X7M60i. They have a handful of 7x40 that are in production and two m60 in queue before mine. They have only a single m60 allocation for April so far. So at pace of 1 per month I’m guessing to get an allocation in June. Curious if anyone knows if the pace of allocations will increase for the m60i?

I waited 8 weeks for my dealer and they also would typically get 1/month, started looking around and a dealership 2 hrs from me had 2 untaken allocations from April with no waiting list or anything like that. I think it may depend on the relationship of the manager with their BMW rep or something, the city where I’ll be getting mine is the same population as where I live so not sure if size if city plays a role?

sales volume is the primary determination as to number of allocations.

likely its a part thats missing. ordering over again with the same options might yield the same results.

Agree, if you order again, it will be at least 4 weeks if not longer. If it does not clear in 3 weeks, I would start to think about moving to inventory at dealers.

Is it normal for dealerships to not know how many m60i allocation they will be getting or gotten in the past or dp they like with holding this information on purpose ? We were #8 on that dealership wait list before going elsewhere. We had to get our allocation 1 hour away.
