New guy...happy to find you all

New guy here..

Just purchased a X7M50i. Ordered it in Sept and was told my "slot" was for a December delivery. Ended up taking delivery early in November. The car was at my dealer in late October so almost two months earlier than anticipated.

I took it in this week for winter tires (752).

So far so good. I had an X5 before this. Really liking the X7 a ton! (and the move up to the M).

I will warmly accept any tips or tricks i should know about.

Very happy to stumble on to this forum. I was on Bimmerfest and just couldn't find much on X7s. I posted a couple of messages and didn't get a single reply. (on thing like tire choices, options, etc.).

thanks for listening. I am going to stay up too late tonight catching up on many posts here!

Welcome. There is a lot of great info on the G07/G05 the last 1.5 years on the forum. Many of us were the beta testers for the first G05 so feel free to ask any question. We are here to help.

Thank you all. I will bite on that offer to answer questions. What does the G05/G07 mean? I am an amateur on the BMW stuff. This is my second. I had a X5... D35. The diesel which i LOVED. But, i am not a BMW expert on anythign.

When my X5 hit 80k and 6 years old it was time for a new ride. The X7 rocks so far. Makes all of life's hard work feel very worth it!!!!

I am having tgivng prepped by the country club. My wife just hollered at me when i said i was taking my pick up to pick up the dinner as i didn't want it to smell up the car. LOL. She said i treat that car better than i treat the kids... which might actually be true a bit.

Will post pics in the pics thread when it is cleaned up.

Thanks all!

G05 is the current and all new X5 platform. G07 is the all new X7 platform. It’s just a inside industry way of telling what platform you are talking about. You own a G07. I do the same with my truck. My Power Wagon is really my every day ride and my BMW’s are for sport or luxury traveling.

Welcome! There are many tips that many will provide, but I'll start with this one:

Make sure you have roof rails and a cargo box because while the X7 can hold 7 passengers very comfortably, when you do that it can only hold enough luggage for 3 of them.
