Looks like this thread might be dead, but if not, I need a little assurance that my color combo (E93 montego, saddle, aluminum) isn't THAT off the wall. Keep in mind, I will be driving it in Hawaii, so the top will be down 90% of the time.
Will the saddle get too hot? I know they have the sun-reflective treatment on the leather, but will that make a difference in the constant sun? Any thoughts are appreciated

Have you seen saddle with aluminum? I would think the aluminum would look rather cheap compared to any of the woods (In Europe isn't it cheaper to get aluminum than wood?). I haven't seen the aluminum in person either, so just going by what I have seen in pictures. Aluminum would likely look it's best with black or coral leather (the sportier look), but I wouldn't use either of those with Montego Blue. |

I did see the saddle (on a jet black model) with a montego sitting very close, so I did a little visualization of the two. The aluminum looked alright and I am a little worried about the different woods clashing with the light brown saddle. Maybe I am overthinking a bit, but that was my thought.
I am mainly concerned with how the leather will hold up in direct sun all year. I am pretty anal with taking care of it, but I don't want to have a seaty ass/back every time I get out of my car. The cream beige is a 'safe' choice IMO, but I was looking for something that would be both classy and sporty, top up or down. ...the wait is a killer

I liked it so much I bought the company! Err... I mean ordered a Montego Blue 335i with the beige interior. Aluminum trim.
I thought about the Terra leather, but without seeing it in person thought the combo had a 50/50 chance of looking fantastic or hideous. Interesting to hear how many dealers have MB sitting on their lots... I couldn't find one at two dealerships, had to see it on an X3. It reminds me a lot of Estoril Blue, which was the color of my wife's E36 M3. Waiting impatiently...three weeks or less! |

i think Montego blue will be popular with the cabrio and the coupe, but not in the sedan. its a pretty "hey look at me" color. a lot of people who buy the sedan dont like that. our dealer ordered 2 montego 335i sedans when they came out. i got one right away....the other is still sitting on the lot. Alpine white and Spark graph seem to be the 2 best sellers for the sedan.

Here's my Montego 330d E92 with Jade Grey leather and brushed aluminium trim. I'm delighted with it as it all works together nicely...

I ordered mine Montego, but since I usually like to stand out a bit, If I had a second chance I'd order deep green. For awhile after the coupes came out I thought nearly everyone would have a SG, Space grey, black, or monaco. oh well montego is still a rockin color :rocks:

I wanted the blue all along until I saw it in person. Just didn't look quite right to me. Not a bad color at all, just not the color for me.
The one color I wasn't going to get was that damn silver.... until I saw it in the showroom. I was blown away! The coupe looks stunning in silver. TiAg for me, I don't care who thinks it's "boring." |

That's what you think? I get more compliments about my car's color and looks (being Montego Blue) than I have in any other car I've owned. Just yesterday while speaking to a guy with an STI, he loved the Montego Blue and even stated, "if I could paint my STI, it would be that color, one of the hottest blues I've seen." I get compliments at the gas station, car wash, you name it. The Montego Blue is sweet. I'm also glad not many people get it (though many want it) as it keeps it more rare. I'm tired of seeing so many silver and black cars. I have a really rare combo too. Montego Blue with the Terra brown interior. Was unsure about that combo at first, but fell in love. Get lots of compliments about the interior color too. |
