Accessories stay on after turning off car?

Hey everyone,

I sold my M3CS over the weekend and have been driving my father's X7 until my next car gets here. Ive noticed that when I turn off the car that the radio/accessories still stay on. I thought I remember them turning off when I open the door, but they no longer do that. Is there a setting in the iDrive somewhere that I can change this?

Ive been holding down the volume button to get everything to turn off, but it just seems strange that the car doesn't shut down with one button press.

What am I missing?

There is: Car > Settings > Doors/Access > Turn off vehicle after opening doors.

If that's already checked, there's a couple threads on issues people had:

https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1606782
https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1690863
https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1760425

Assuming nothing is wrong, one of the most common "issues" is that the X7 tries to be smart, notice it says "doors" vs simply caring about the "driver's door". Meaning it knows it would be nice if the accessories stayed on for your passengers... so if you're like me and put a bag in the back passenger door prior to getting in the vehicle, it might think someone is back there and it won't turn off the radio until that door also closes.

Locking the car should also turn it off if all else fails.

Does "turn off car after opening door" also kill the engine? Living in AZ it is nice to leave the engine running sometimes when hoping out to get the mail.

I know, first world problems. Lol

Hah, no, only applies if the engine is off, so you're okay to continue and abuse the environment there.

Found the setting and made the change. Everything works again. Thanks for helping!

I often leave my car running with the doors open and AC full blast to help cool the earth.. just doing my part.
