The same thing just happened to a girlfriend on the 400, she was driving a Nissan Murano that was only a few months old. Nissan replaced the sunroof and detailed the interior!

Since I drive with my sun roof visor open most of the time, I'm either good, or will be picking glass out of what little hair I have left if this happens to me.

Agree with other posters, you need to be all over BMW on this one, not just screw around with the dealer. I would call BMW/Canada and talk to them, and if no satisfaction, write them a certified letter. Consider consulting an attorney if that fails. This is a seriously dangerous issue and BMW should not be allowed to gaffe you off.

If your auto insurance there is like it is in the US that should be covered by the comprehensive part of you auto insurance, usually with a $100 deductable, should be no different than a windshield breaking... Good luck.

I will definitely double check but I'm pretty sure my policy has a $1000 deductible with all luxury cars. My first car was a VR, I miss that thing. thanks for the tip.

Would it be cheaper to replace the sunroof in this situation or to replace the whole roof with a hardtop CF roof?
Edit: Nevermind - CF roof is $1500, new class for sunroof is $160 |
