X7 Driver
Is the X7 geared toward Moms and larger families?
I like large SUVs and have had a Tahoe / Cadillac before, and I am very interested in the x7 M60i. It will not be used as a family hauler since all the kids are out of the house. I will use it to tow my toys to the track and trips down to Florida a couple of times a year. Does it make sense for my use case? |

Sounds like a perfect use case. It's definitely targeted toward families and I do use it take my kids around, but I bought it with the understanding that I didn't want a full size SUV like a Tahoe/Escalade. Instead, I wanted a slightly longer, more luxurious X5 that still retains good driving dynamics and gives me the option to occasionally use the third row. The M60i performance is great and works wonderfully as a cruiser with highway assistant for longer stretches of highway. Of the three row German SUVs, I think it's the best choice.

BMW SUVs are very capable tow vehicles. Get the factory tow package. Don't settle for aftermarket if you're going to tow near capacity.
Look at the distance between where the tow ball will be and the rear wheels. It's a very short distance so there's not a big level arm to wag the SUV if the trailer gets unruly. Plus with the factory package the stability control works to help keep things steady should things get dicey due to wind or an emergency maneuver.
