switching 22s to 21s
Hi all - my new x7 came with 22s which seem great but def notice a doffeeence from the 21s I have driven on in the past. I’m not racing out to replace now but can someone let me know what would be needed if I decided to replace them with a set of 21s instead down the road? I’ve bought tires before but never new wheels so wondering how $$$ and the process.

If you're buying OEM wheels, you'll need wheels + tires + TPMS sensons. If going for aftermarket, you can build a wheel/tire package on Tire Rack. They'll set you up with compatible wheels, tires, TPMS, and new lug nuts that fit your new wheels (with OEM wheels you should be able to continue using the existing lug nuts).
No software changes needed in the car, just take off the old wheels and put the new ones on and the car will automatically detect the new TPMS sensors after a bit. |

I'm considering a car with 21's because there's no 22's on the lot.... maybe we can do a trade
Basically wondering the same thing, but other direction. How much of a wash will I take trying to replace 21's with new tires for a set of black 22s. |

You may be able sell the rims to someone up North who wants to run winters on 21s. But they wouldn't need the summer tires in that scenario. Unless they're all seasons? Then maybe you could get something for the tires too. Or sell just the tires to someone closer to you.
