The one bit I got from the genius person was that my delivery will be by Aug 31. But I suspect that's just a generic placeholder.

Hopefully the vehicle makes up for it once it’s here- I can’t say it’s a great first impression for a first time BMW owner . ESP if that rate lock expires on the 28th and the vehicle isn’t here
I (and likely many) are in a similar situation wrt the rate lock. I just got off the phone with Genius and they claim the dealer's sales manager does have the ability to call into the factory and that I should try contacting the sales manager. At this point I'm just looking to get realistic expectations as to when the vehicle will be ready.
I agree, if this part issue will go past 3 weeks then I'll start finding a 2022. I just don't want to lose both option after my rate lock is over

That's late man. When did you order and when was your prod date again?

I also talked with them and have been told "delivery on the first week of September" in the other thread; people reported say the 23" rims are not available until further notice, so I guess they have few shortages.

Re the rate lock, by SA said they can make exceptions, so I wouldn’t be too concerned about that but def check that point with them/finance department. You’re ultimately ready to perform your part of the bargain so it’s on them for not being able to deliver a vehicle in time.

Well I have a rate from my CU. If they are willing to cut the future tax out of the price of the vehicle then I might be ok with that

on the X5 boards its being reported merino leather is no longer available for order on the 40i. also they might have started deleting the power lower tailgate.

very surprised if true that they are already having parts shortages less than two weeks into MY23 prod. this wont affect anything in qc, but might explain the delays, they are reallocating parts.

Thanks for insight, as per. I did some digging and couldn’t find that X5 discussion. Do you mind pasting it? Would be good to track that and here to see if more can be gleaned.

Doubt they will cut that from the x7. Very likely they are reallocating common parts from the X5 to the x7. I think the multicontour seats are the same across both models.

My SA informed me that the delay properly caused by the new iDrive 8 software updates, hope that is the case and it should be a quick fix?

Interesting, my car was in QC for 7 days, arrived at the dealer and they had to flash the software before delivery. Going in today to take delivery. 🤞
