F82 M4 | Advan | Enkei | Volk | ZCP | Wheel Testing Picture Journal

Picked up my brand new 2015 Mineral White F82 M4 two weeks ago. I absolutely love the car and in my opinion it is a day and night difference compared to my 2011 e92 335xi which I am coming from and still own. The M4 not only is a blast on the road, but I managed to take it to the track last week (open lapping at TMP Cayuga, Ontario) and it was an absolute machine.

I wanted to share some pictures of the wheel testing I have done with the car so far.

A big shoutout to my buddy MK599 for sharing his epic wheel collection. Here is a link to his collection: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=980070
Also a shoutout to local Toronto company Alpha Motorsports where I get all of my performance parts.

We tried and test fitted 7 different sets of wheels however 3 sets did not clear the brakes. Description of each wheel setup and tire spec is attached to each picture along with the 3 sets that did not fit at the bottom of this post.
Hope this helps some people deciding which wheels to go with for their F8X! Enjoy!

Stock and ZCP's look the best. The car follows the same design lines as the e92 so as such a concave rim with center being the most concave point with the arms stretching out to meet the rim and giving it a bit of flushness before dipping inward to the rim will always look good on this body style. Going off the reservation is generally risky but I like how you put in the work for the comparisons.

Did you drive on the enkeis ? Any rubbing?
I think I'm going to do the 11 +30 which gives me about 1mm more clearance.

can you talk a little more about the front fitment with the square zcp?

how much clearance, if any, did you have? I wonder how much more space you would have using a 255 tire.

also, did you drive on them?

I'm amazed (and scared) by how much those 10's and 10.5's are poking.

We want a 10-15mm less aggressive rear than the e9x. Sucks for concavity and current fitments but wheel manufacturers will adjust tooling and there will be many choices soon. I suspect a 19x10/19x11 setup will be ideal.

Great work! I like the look of the Enkei wheels and ZCP look great! It does seem that this new F8x platform can't handle sizes and offsets, as aggressive as the E9x platform...
I wonder if the F80 can handle a wider more aggressive wheel, compared to the F82... I guess time will tell.

ZCP's still look so damn good. One of my favorite wheels ever made, hands down the best looking out of all the wheels test fitted.

I drove with the Enkei setup. No rubbing. I would like to say that the rear brake clips were about 3mm away from the inner barrel of the wheel which I believe is the absolute minimum with regards to safety. Worked fine anyhow.

I didn't get a chance to drive on them however as I remember there wasn't any clearance issues.

I appreciate the input guys. I am hoping that with a drop and camber the F82 platform will better fit these wheels.

ZCP look outdated in my own personal opinion. I must say though, they are the second best looking ones out of the bunch alongside the OEM wheels. Great pics and thank you for sharing!

I could dig that. Would be a little stretch on a 255 but maybe ok

Maybe a 265/285 setup would be ideal

ZCP's, classic looking. A great mesh wheel design that just flat out looks great!
Very feng shui with the new design.

IMO the Advan RS's and pressed graphite SL's are the sickest...especially the SL's!

However once your car is lowered, all of these wheels will probably look amazing on your car. Thanks for sharing the pics and btw I am a really big fan of your AW E92!

I love the stock ones on these. More modern and thats the look I like. Besides that the ZCPs look amazing and cant go wrong with them. The drop makes it look even more promising

A square ZCP rear setup could run a square 285 setup!
