Congratulations! I hope the wait doesn't drive you NUTS!
What option packages were available? Anything notable beyond the standard X5 options? Did you see the 'Sport Package'? How about the HUD (Heads up display)... is that available?? Just curious... My local dealer won't accept orders for the ttV8 yet - must be too far out.. |

http://www.bmwpassion.com/forum/show...69#post1665169 the optional it's similar to X5 and there is the HUD,useless optional for me in these link,a forum like e90post but Italian, there is the Italian price for all optional but there isn't the description for the sport package...so there is the "eletta" "attiva" and "futura" package but in the USA you haven't that package the V8 in Italy it will bw aviable in july or august but there isn't the price... |

Looking forward to see the pictures when your car arrives ... Could well be that mine will arrive in May as well then ? Maybe the vendor was very conservative just to avoid to have too many phone calls... |

X6 production started in Spartanburg 2 weeks before Christmas. I have in front of me the official BMW UK Internal Bulletin that states the following; 35d - build begins - Jan 2008 - deliveries from - 31st May 2008 35i - build begins - Apr 2008 - deliveries from - 31st May 2008 30d - build begins - Apr 2008 - deliveries from - 31st May 2008 50i - build begins - Oct 2008 - deliveries from - Q4 2008 All dealer demo cars will be the 35d and will be specced and supplied to dealers ready for the May retail launch events. UK confirmed prices OTR; 35d - £44,135 35i - £42,625 30d - £41,995 50i - to be defined My car is on the BMW production system however as yet no allocation has been assigned against these orders, but delivery is confirmed as 31st May 2008 (although I've asked for my car to be delivered on 30th May, and I won't drive it until 31st). I am expecting my order to go firm within the next 4 weeks, then for my car to be built and stored at BMW's UK depot until nearer the launch date. My Spec at the moment is; X6 xdrive35d in Vermilion Red, Black Nevada Leather, Dark Ash trim and 20" Style 214 wheels. |

Nice colour Vermilion Red.. Mine will be black (unless I change my mind..) Would like to see "real" videos in all the different colors (not under special lights, like on the street) On the Autobild.de webpages you can see what it looks like on the street in dark grey, not bad after all. |

Steved - if production on 50i starts in October, can we assume they will be model year 2009 cars?
I'm holding out for that awesome 4.4twin turbo... but it seem SO far away... it will really kill me once you guys start reporting on DRIVING yours! |

Yes, the should be. If I were ordering a 50i I would expect it to be delivered in the UK by December '08. I would prefer to go for the 50i, especially since I have an AMG ML63 at the moment, but I cannot wait that long so will take one of the earlier models and perhaps upgrade next year.

In the meantime it seems that mine will arrive somewhere in the middle of June... The quota per country was increased, so probably for Italy it will be the same... From a marketing point of view, to limit sales to the larger engines makes sense as long as demand outpaces the production capacity.. Hope yours will be delivered on time.. |

That's depressing if it applies to all countries and not just the UK. But I'm guessing (hoping?) it may be just the UK schedule, as BMW expects to sell far more diesels in Europe than gas-engined X6s, so it makes sense for them to ramp up diesel production for Europe and sell the TT gas version in North America.
Doesn't it? Please?... |
