Extended storage pack f80
Hi all,
Was wondering if any of you f80 owners have specified the extended storage pack? Would be great if someone could send some photos. Thanks |

F80 Extended storage
I've been asked by a couple of you about extended storage, so I thought I'd upload a couple of photos.
I think, but do not know for sure, that it includes the following: 1) A power socket on the left of the boot (or trunk if American) 2) The storage compartments where the spare wheel could have been; this has been divided up. Note there is no sound absorbing material in the boot, and this could explain why the road noise is so severe on some surfaces. 3) A net for the boot, and thats in the poly bag. The other two items are the compressor and rubber solution to (attempt to) repair punctures.

That's all standard in US cars.

I suspect not worth it, but I don't know what an F80 looks like without the extended storage.

Hahahaha, yeah, I think I'm not brave enough. It still has the tent and the sleeping bag in it for starters.

So essentially you're paying £155 for a net and and extra power port. I cant imagine that the spare wheel space changes at all unless you normally get an actual spare tire?

And there's an additional eyelid in the middle? Thus able to fit in not 1 but 2 cargo nets? Can someone confirm this? also these cargo nets from BMW are quite pricey! |

No, I don't go fishing with the net.
I'm just not sure what extras this feature gives you; can someone lift up the carpet flap in the book and take a photo of what is underneath?

Saw your youtube guides on the IDrive settings. Most useful indeed!
Looking forward to tweaking it when it arrives. Unfortunately during winter time. Anyone considered winter tyres?? and protection of the wheels & brake hubs from horrid salt..? |
