Diesel owners: what fuel brand?
As a new diesel owner, I'm pleased with the increase in mpg but I notice some brands are better than others. I know there may be more factors such as what state or maybe even which specific gas station. But my findings are that BP delivers only about 29 mpg. I've filled up at 2 different BP stations and that's about the average. I've used Shell and Exxon, but not enough at one fillup to be sure but they seem to deliver better mpg. We've only had the vehicle for 2,500 miles, so we don't have much experience with various diesel brands

I think it likely varies with your location. For our gasoline cars we currently have, I get gas from usually either Shell or QT. Both are top tier, but I'm not sure if the top tier additives apply and/or are put into diesel #2. I plan to stick with these same two brands for our soon to be ordered X5 35d.
On a side note, I usually drive my wife's Lexus on business trips back and forth weekly from Tucson to Phoenix (about 1.5 hrs on the interstate averaging 82mph). Sometimes I fill her car up at Circle K (not top tier as far as I know but "guaranteed gasoline"), and I find her car gets better mpg with their fuel compared to Shell or QT. It averages about 30mpg with the Circle K and around 28 with QT/Shell. Anyone have an idea as to why this may be?
