Combox Alternative for pre-2011 cars

Hello All,

I recently purchased a ViseeO Tune to air (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to go along with my BMW USB/aux cable and i can play all my music from my iphone/android (spotify, pandora, itunes etc) over Bluetooth and it connects seamlessly to the audio system and with the Iphone it also display's song information and i can control my iphone with my steering wheel controls to skip songs etc.

If anyone is looking at adding bluetooth audio to their pre-combox cars, this is an excellent alternative.

Thanks for the info. Does this also allow phone calls? Or just music?

I do not have Bluetooth now and mainly want to use hands free calling.

I don't think it has a microphone....so i would have to conclude that it cannot do phone calls...i have Bluetooth so i haven't tried it for that purpose.

Thanks for the recommendation! Looks like a great way to add BT streaming. If you read the Amazon reviews you'll find that it doesn't interfere with factory BT phone functions.

I have one and it does audio only. It is seamless though between phone in the car and audio through the ViseeO. When playing music and the phone rings it will switch to phone mode and when you hang up it goes right back to playing media. The biggest difference between this one and the 30-40 dollar options are it auto connects every time if on a android/iphone. All the other ones you have to pull up the bluetooth screen and reconnect it every time you get in the car and that is a pain in the ass. It sounds good and does what it is supposed to.

Couple of questions about this ViseeO. I have the HTC One (M7). 09 M3 w/nav.
-If I buy this product and Y cable:
1) Can I hit the voice button, say an address and get directions? i.e. does it use the phone?
2) I only use Pandora, will I be able to skip songs, down vote, or change station with the steering wheel controls, or via idrive?

Thanks for the help, I will continue to research this. I want to be wireless in the car. I also hate that I can't do voice to text for navigation or input the adress to google maps and "share" it to the car. Looking for a way to do that.

#1 is unlikely since the A2DP profile used for Bluetooth audio streaming doesn't include a mechanism for a mic that ties into voice recognition like that. Newer cars are actually implementing integration for that as a new feature which also requires phone-side support. On iOS is called Siri Eyes-Free or something.

#2 would depend on the Pandora app for Android, but skipping a track definitely SHOULD work. The rest won't because again the A2DP spec doesn't allow for that kind of functionality. Even Combox cars don't get that kind of full iDrive integration unless they also have the BMW Apps option, the phone is connected via USB, and Pandora is running in the foreground.

For sending addresses to iDrive from Google Maps, the BMW Remote app can do this if you have a BMW Assist subscription. Or is there still no Android version of that app?

Just picked up the BMW Y cable and Viseeo blue tooth adapter recommended in this thread. Works great for my 2009 M3. Audio playlists appear, tunedin radio station info appears, sound quality is great; I can keep my phone in my pocket. Great tip!

Had this for months now. Best addition to pre-combox cars. It's a "set it and forget it" mod.
