Clear Bra and B pillar

clear bra'd my entire front including all fenders, door cups and B pillar- hate getting the ridiculous scratches from washing. Highly recommend clear bra- already had 3 mm rock chip on my bumper. and that power dome will be a rock magnet.

amazing job by Alex @ Rhino Custom Detail in the OC/SoCal They took their time and rolled film under the hood and fenders. Can't tell the car was bra'd until you get super close!

I have clear bra on my bumper and mirrors and will be adding it to other parts of my car soon. Thanks for sharing the pics. I had a few questions.

1) What film did you go with? I have Suntek on mine.
2) What are the door cups and B pillar? I'm guessing the B Pillar is the black strip next to the window on the door?
3) Did you do any paint protection on the rest of the car? (Opticoat Pro, etc)
4) I've been quoted around $900 for full hood and front fenders. If you don't mind sharing, how much did Rhino charge?

Hey there- here are your answers:

1. Nanofusion- this was recommended by Alex, because it has a lifetime warranty and they are located in So Cal. The issue with Suntek is that they require samples of the defect and film to be mailed to them and until it is approved, you are without protection on that part.

2. B pillar section is the the glossy plastic trim between the front and rear doors. 2 issues with this section- lots of touching and handling as it is the section you use to close your doors. this section also scratches very very easily and looks unsightly. Door cups are the section behind the door handles. It is oftentimes scratched up from fingernails.

3. I got a quote for opti coat. it protects like a permanent wax for your car, but I do not see the need as 1/3 of my car is now protected and I will wax the rest.

4. i'll pm u later. But I did get full hood, full fenders, full bumpers, full l/r mirrors, full headlights, B pillars, Door cups, and also a strip for rear trunk/bumper

Thx for the info. I can already see small scratches on the Pillars on my car. How did they wrap this section; or did they just cut the film to the very edge of the frame? Can you tell the film is on the Pillars from a normal distance?

they do it like any other part of the car. It is cut along the edges.

You cannot tell the film is on at all.

It will take about 8 hours to do this entire job. There's a good lounge and wifi, so i just waited around.

btw the film is harder to scratch than the uncovered b pillar material, so that's why it made sense for me to cover it.

Good call on getting the B pillar covered. That black shadowline paint is always put on so thin. I'm extra careful cleaning it.

Hmm... u have me thinking. Probably not, that will get me to the point where I might as well wrap the entire car.

Xpel Ultimate? If anyone around VA is looking to get it done I've got a guy that does an amazing job at a very reasonable price. Highly, highly recommend getting Xpel done on at least the hood, bumper, and fenders.

While I haven't had my M4 XPEL'd (yet), I can also vouch for Rhino. Alex & Luis are top notch... great detail shop.

glad I saw this thread. Going to get my B pillars done right when my car lands too. Didn't even think of it, but swirls on there have always drove me nuts!
