P2433 Error, what is a mini HFM?

Just pulled this code. P2433. Secondary Air Injection System Air Flow/Pressure Sensor Circuit High (Bank 1)

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...9&postcount=60

This thread says to check the Mini-HFM. What is this mini-HFM?

Mini-HFM is the small air mass meter on the secondary air circuit. It measures the air from the Secondary Air Pump through the head to make sure there is no restriction or blockage there.

Is this the sensor you're talking about?

No, that's the MAP sensor for measuring pressure in the manifold. The mini HFM is located by the rear left side of the plenum by the air pump inlet. You can't really see it with the cowling in place.

When you say left, are you referring to the drivers side?

Are you talking about #11 in this diagram?

Sorry about my noobness, and I really appreciate your help.

Vehicle left and right is always viewed from the drivers perspective.

Good to know. The same convention is used in anatomy and physiology.

I've got the same error code, 2739 - P2433, accompanied by 27C5 - P2430.

Is the mini-HFM just sold as an integral part of the suction hose? There's no separate part number for it on realoem, and my dealer couldn't find it as a separate part either.

Update: Found some good pictures here: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...e/11727838504/. They're making me think that's a yes.

It's all one piece. The hose has the meter built into it and replacing it should solve those two codes.

It did, and the sensor does come as a single part with the tubing.

I got 2739 - P2433 and 27C5 - P2430 - any DIYs on how to replace the whole hose 11727838504? I'm assuming the plenum has to come off and it's accessible toward the back of the engine.

Got the suction hose with sensor and installed it. It was pretty easy.

Step 1. Open the hood
Step 2. Remove some parts
Step 3. Throw dirty laundry into engine bay
Step 4. Drop a few nuts and bolts
Step 5. Remove the belly pan
Step 6. Evaluate life choices that led you to this point
Step 7. Disconnect everything then remove tower brace from air pump - 2xT25 screws, 4x10 mm nuts
Step 8. Push pump toward windshield and twist to pull out
Step 9. Put it all back together

I cleared the codes after replacing the hose and sensor, but now the codes are back after a few days. What's the next step? Maybe replace the air pump?

Looking for any suggestions. BPMSport

I ordered a replacement secondary air pump (OE Pierburg) and while installing it, I noticed I didn't plug the connector into the sensor on the suction hose I replaced previously. It didn't throw a code immediately because it looks like after resetting these emissions codes, you need to drive 50-100 miles or so before the checks are triggered again.

At least I have both parts replaced and no codes triggered for the last 130 miles or so. Hopefully that fixed it.

Did this hose and sensor replacement a few weeks ago. It was a serious pain in the ass. The hardest part was lining up all the little hoses to put the intake plenum back on. I had to use a lot of silicon lubrication to get it to pop back in on all 8 hoses.
