I'm doing auto club speedway at Fontana with speed ventures feb 21/22. Streets of willow is fun. Had my first track experience there. Very technical and not forgiving in terms of runoff!

I'll be attending a friend's bachelor day at Streets on 1/31/15 if any of you are interested. I went to high school with Gary and he pursued all of our dreams of merging his passion with his career. Read about him here:

PM me for the link. We are trying to keep the event at a limited number of drivers.

I'm signed up for the PCA car control clinic and autocross on 2/21-22. PCA events are really well run, include free instruction, lunch and lots of seat time with the traction control off.

In general, I search for events here and at Speed Districts website.

I've driven exclusively with Hooked on Driving (HOD) in NorCal and have been throughly satisfied with the experience. The scores of people I've referred have become repeat customers and trackheads as well. Speaks to the quality, safety, and tone of the event that they host.

They're expanding into SoCal and have their inaugural SoCal track event at Buttonwillow 1/30/2015:

http://www.hookedondriving.com/event...ugural_1-30-15

Apparently Ken Dobson has signed up to head up HOD's efforts in SoCal and from what I gather, he's got quite a few racing accomplishments.

To be honest, if I lived in SoCal I'd be all over this. No affiliation with HOD, just an -extremely- satisfied customer.

which date are you looking at? as soon as i get a chance, i will get the registration up.

all the events come with 3 hours of track time, photography cd for you to take home, and timing transponder if needed. the driving instructor package is additional but you will have a driving coach for the day.

if you have more questions, feel free to email me, josh@speeddistrict.com

sorry, i haven't been active on the forums.

If HOD's prices are way out of line of market forces then that will definitely be a problem. Perhaps the value equation adds up better for less-experienced drivers (who are provided a full day's worth of in-car coaching?) Anyhow, if there are substantially more economical and well-run events already going on ... then HOD has their work cut out for them.

Track pricing has gone up across the board for 2015. At least lower gas cost offsets it, for now.
