They are still one of the most popular stolen vehicles, if it is a real Type S. People rip out the powertrain and drop it in a Civic. Add forced induction and you are quite easily up to 400 hp.

They unscrewed the driveway lights during the day and came back at night to take my buddies Civic SiR in darkness while he slept inside.
For those looking for the engine swap I say God just buy a used Civic Si with the K20 motor and get the factory tuned package, excellent manual and LSD. If some guy with a tuner Civic gets a great deal on a "used" K20 does it not dawn on them where it might have come from? Does this mean the engine swap tuner community is its own worst nightmare? One day their car will be gone too... |
