Evo Magazine M4 v RS5 v RC-F on road and track

New Evo test of these 3 cars. M4 scrapes a win but described as a real handful in the wet. They predict the new C63 could be the car to finally dethrone the M3/4 in this segment . Seems like the new M3/4 is not as dominant as previous generations were on these tests- has the competition raised it's game or has the M3/4 lost it's way? I love mine but something is definitely missing compared to my previous M cars.

Just to keep things fresh/clear (nostalgia is a tremdous 'fuzz' on memories) here are two big compilations I did, one challenging the notion the E9X was dominant (truth is: maybe not so much. Actually very similar to F8X)

the second is a compilation of F8X vs .... reviews which shows that, in general, other than Steve Sutcliffe, the F8X has more than held its own in these matchups. (which I will now update with this review)

Sadly the collected wisdom seems to be growing to suggest the F8X has somehow been lacking (go back and read the reviews folks, it reviews at least as well as E9X - if not better) and it becomes a bit of a rolling stone. Much like the E9X is viewed (possibly incorrectly) as an unbeatable juggernaut.

I agree that sportier mode on DCT and Sport + are too violent to be used. Funny because I thought that on track it would be usable...
I agree too that it needs more attention than the E9x.

I actually found those setting perfect on a dry track:
  • Engine: Sport+
  • EDC: Sport+
  • Steering: Sport
  • DSC: Off
  • DCT: S3

E9x M3 was faster around the Top Gear track in the rain than the RS5 when they were tested head to head a few years ago. I own an F80 but am not blind to it's flaws. In Europe it rains a lot so this is a fair test in real world conditions against two competitors IMO.
