(2MK) M-DKG US orders recap
I'm getting a bit of a run around from the dealer. Whoever has placed an order for the M3 Coupe with M-DKG in the US, is your order at 111 - Order Accepted at AG, yet? Can you check with your dealer please.
Thanks, Adrian |

So, your saying it listed option 2mK for the coupe in the DCS? My CA says as of today it is only listed for the cab.

Yeah, it was put in DCS yesterday. The Vehicle Inquiry Report printout lists it as 2MK - M double clutch transmission with drivelogic. Are you saying that it was removed from the coupe ordering guide today, or that it was never available in their system for the coupe?

Thanks guys good thread. I need some ammo with my dealer as well as I am strongly considering an order without a test drive and am dying to get in as early as possible. My dealer claims that with the cancellations I am first (or second if the GM wants one) in line for a DCT Coupe. I figure I'll likely be able to get a test drive of a 6MT before having to commit 100% to my order. Thoughts on that scheduling? |

I placed my order and deposit last Thursday (17th) and the DCT was already in the DCS system. So it's surprising so many people are getting turned away by their dealer.

Thanks for the info. Could you ask your dealer what the current status of your car is. Its it still at 047, or has it moved to 111? Did they give you any idea when it may go into production. Thanks.

I talked with my CA yesterday and it's still in 047. He's not sure when my spec will be accepted for production. The requested production date is week 10, but I'm not sure how often requested dates become actual dates.

M-DCT orders
Quote:
From my CA today, "It's interesting what is out there. I did a locate for the Chicago market only...no option 2MK on any car, built, to be built or on order. The option is not specific for a particular market, it is just not available in the US yet." 2MK is only listed for the Convertible in the US at this point, which has no release date, so it's moot. Those being told they have DCT on order have a dealer that's stretching the truth.

2KM not showing on DCS
Yes, that's curious. My CA is quite good with many years experience at this dealer. Can't explain it.

M-DCT orders
I can only speculate that maybe a few orders got through before BMW pulled the plug to slow things down. I'm going ahead with my MT order; not waiting more months. I'll get DCT in a couple years if I've gotta' have it.

Perhaps the orders that went through was the "limited" production ones...the rest of us who werent lucky enough to get it first will just have to wait until June like how the bulletin said.

Got a call from my dealer this morning saying he has a slot at 111 for a M-DCT. I'm speccing the car as we speak. He says there are very limited slots for M-DCT for March, April and May builds. We'll see what happens.

So starting in June, it can be ordered for sure? Or is this the official launch date of the convertible with M-DCT/DKG? If indeed I can order starting with June production, that is really good news.
