CPV Question
Hey guys. I'm gonna be starting my Euro header and cat conversion tomorrow and I have a Rogue CPV o-ring to install while I've got things apart. So, stupid question but I just want to be sure from someone who has done this to avoid making a mess. Does the oil need to be drained before removing the valve? From what I've read it doesn't sound like it - just a couple drops, not a flood when removed - but, as I said, I just want to be sure. Thanks!

No need to drain. At most you might get a dribble of oil, easily cleaned up with a rag.
I did mine recently but it's still leaking (replaced with upgraded o-rings). I think I'll have to use thread sealant this time around to be sure. Good luck. |

Yes just the o-ring.
I had a a leak coming from the large oil pan plug on the driver's side and used this on the threads: http://www.permatex.com/products-2/p...sealant-detail I have some left over so that's what I'll probably use. |

There's an oil port above the threads.
I don't think thread seal is going to help. Make sure the O-ring is intact and everything is nice and clean where it seats.
