M Performance Gloss Black Side Gills Vs IND Painted Side Marker Set
Someone posted in another section saying “i ordered 2 pairs, one from BMW one from IND. the ones from bmw tend to peel off, so I ordered the IND ones which are the original ones that come with the car but painted gloss black”.
I’ve been planning to order the M Performance Gloss Black Side Gills until I read this. Have a lot of people been having issues with the M Performance Gloss Black Side Gills peeling? Are the M Performance Gills painted or are they stickers? Any info would be helpful so I can make a decision. |

My IND set of gloss black have started to peel (logo strip) on both ends. Just a little bit but it is noticeable. Every time I enter the car I simply press both ends in and they are good for a few mins.

I am wondering if BMW is encountering issues with the black side grills. I got this response from getbmwparts.com regarding availability:
"Hi Jawwad, thanks for your interest – at this time, BMW has discontinued sale of the gloss black side gills for the M4. We do not have an ETA at this time available for when they will be orderable. Thanks again," I ended up ordering from IND

Mine are too detached a little from one of the edges...ordered from IND. Stock ones seem to be perfect though, i will try getting them painted somewhere, or get them plasti dip

Well this is a shame to read about. It is sad when the OE manufacturer can't make parts that don't peel

I have OEM ones and the M4 sticker on it has always been a little peeled off. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

That sucks about the peeling. I've had other cars in the past that had issues with badges peeling. It was always something that the dealer replaced for me free of charge. I would ask your dealer about this next time that you're in for a service.

I figured I could hit it with a little krazy glue. It never really bothered me, so I never got around to doing it. I'd be more concerned about scratching something if I replace them.

I just ordered and received a message that these have been recalled
Hopefully they have a fix for then because a black front grill doesn't really match chrome side gills. |
