I haveoverspray of white on my black sapphire anyone else have overspray issues?
Hey i just took my Z in for its semi annual detailing and was told it had white over spray on it. It must be from being near an area at work, one day they decided to paint by my car. I thought there was a funny film on it, but with the sapphire, its hard to tell. Anyways, its been a month or two and it wasn't noticeable to me until the detailer said "wow, you have white overspray all over your car".
Anyways, just an extra $100 bucks and its looking good again. Detailing it twice a year does wonders..its new, its new. Rosie

I can't wait for it to stop snowing here. We got 8.5 inches last night
As soon as the sand is off the streets my Zed is coming out to play and get a good detailing!

Winter sucks when you have a z4 roadster in the garage. Car was put up in Late Oct and the snow won't be gone until late April. Northern Maine its like frozen tundra here.
I detailed my car in the garage, clay bar and wax and found white paint in the wheel wells and some on the back bumper splashed up from the wheels. I thought that buffing your car too often will wear the clear coat off. |

That's funny, Rosie, 'cause I have the exact same thing. I took mine into the detailer and he mentioned some white paint dots. I've seen them myself when I wash the car. You gotta look closely to see them, but they don't come off easily, that's for sure.
My suspicion is that they come from the white paint used to divide the roads. |

A good clay bar should take care of it.

Unfortunately, theose little dots are still there in the summer. They're very, very small and not noticeable unless you look very, very closely. My detailer and I have both tried claying, but they don't come off. He's also tried the bug & tar remover to no avail. One may need the orbital or a very, very light sand. |

My paint seems good but what, exactly, is overspray? And what should I look for? Or, since I haven't noticed should I not learn what it looks like? As they say, ignorance is bliss!
As for the weather... here in Houston it is about 45F and sunny. A gorgeous day for a convertible! Actually, since I will ride with the top down in weather as low as 40F the only season where you really can't go top down is in the Summer where the humidity makes outdoors unbearable. The other three seasons are nice. |

Oversparay consists of little particles of paint. Usually if spray painting there is overspray around the ouside edges of where you were spraying.
If you were to spray paint a treehouse when it was really windy you would probably be covered in overspray... a lot worse than your car. I have not noticed any overspray on my car either...and I do look closely.
