Koni yellow adjustable question

help, do the koni yellow sports shocks allow you to use your oem top hat? I have msport shocks now with H&R sport springs currently on the car but would like to ditch the factory shocks. I'm on a budget of 1100 dollars so I'm trying figure out what all I need. I wanted to get vorshlag camber plates too but was confused on what kind to get on the HPA site for my current springs I have on the car now. Also are the rear adjustable shocks a must have if I'm trying to tune my car at the next noivce school for autocross? We get unlimited laps and would like to dial in the car for the following event the next day. If theres a better alternative for my budget for camber plates and damping shocks I'm open to all options or if I'm better off with better shocks and no camber plates for now that as well. I currently have hooiser r7s 225/45/17 square setup.

Yep same with ECS and HPA right now only for this month I think.

The koni yellow have a 22mm shaft that tapers to 14mm and the top section has a 14mm thread. Stock struts also taper from 22mm to 14mm like the Koni, but then has a 12mm thread at the top. If the OE strut hats can accept the 14mm threaded shaft it would work.

Just call Harold at HPA since he sells the camber plates and konis he will for sure have the answer and is awesome to work with.

I just got Konis installed about a month ago. All the OE strut bits were reused other than the OE shocks themselves. I believe that most of the the Vorshlag camber plates will be able to used with the Konis, it is just a matter of what king of adjustment you want to get from them that makes the difference.

I'm using Ground Control Street camber plates with Koni yellow struts. Initially I used them with OE struts, but recently swapped them for Koni yellow. It works because the shaft design is so similar. When ordering Camber plates you will have to specify what brand of strut and spring diameter you are using. The vendor should know which parts are needed for your setup.

If you are firming up the shocks you will need both front and rear in order to balance the handling. Just be aware the Koni yellow rear dampers have to be removed from the car to be adjusted. There is the white TCK version that is more easily adjusted while installed on the car, but costs more unfortunately.

You seem to be very knowledgeable about this kind of stuff, what kind of suspension mods are you running on your 135i?

I just know about this because I upgraded recently and read about it a lot! Have a look at Vorshlag's guide here:

My car's suspension is aimed at track driving, but its a compromise because I want it to comfortable for street driving as well. Currently I'm using Koni yellow front and TCK rear dampers. Springs are BMW performance front, and custom rate springs for the rear with HPA adjustable perches. Also the car has M3 front arms, E93 M3 front sway, 13mm rear sway, and M3 RSFB. I'm not say its a good setup, but that's the answer to your question.

Thanks for the heads up! I knew they were 25% off everywhere but the 30% off save another $40. I went ahead and pulled the trigger before it goes back to 25% later this week.
