Exclamation Car "jolts" while braking

Hi everyone,

I recently purchase an 03 Z4, and I noticed that the car kind of "jolts" right as it comes to a stop. I went by the dealership and they told me that this is normal for Z4s and M3s. They said that as the wieght shifts from the rear to the front, the drivetrain (I think they said drivetrain) shifts, which causes this light jolt. Does this sound correct? Does anyone else's Z4 do this? Or does this sound like a load of crap from the dealership? Thanks.

I agree, that is crap. Is yous an automatic? What dealer did you buy it from? I got mine from Momentum BMW in Houston. So far they have been really good to me.

When the weather gets a little warmer, we need to get a bunch of Z's together for a meet in Houston. There are a few others on this list.

They're not even BS artists because that isn't even remotely logical. Most likely you have an automatic and the jolt you feel is it downshifting.

if you have an smg, thats the computer trying to decide when to have the clutch in or out while you slow to a stop. If you don't give it some clues as to what to do with gas / brake it gets a little confused at times.

I thought it might be the auto shifting into first, but the rpms do not jump up when it happens. The jolt is slight, but definately exists. Thanks for the replys. I have been going to Advantage BMW in south Houston, but I have heard some bad things about them, so I think I will go by Momentum BMW. I just do not understand why a dealership would lie about this. They are not liable, the car is under extended warrenty from another company. To me, it would seem they would want to work on the car to get some $$$ out of me. This situation really ticks me off. I will keep you guys posted.
