Finally made the switch C63 coupe to M4
Very happy with my transition I made 4 weeks ago. Here are some pictures of both the beasts before taking the new one home.
I wasn't originally sold on my new color combo SS/SS but its grown on me really shows off all those curves. |

I made a similar transition (with a Corvette in the middle ). What are your relative thoughts on the cars?

The BMW just feels more balanced of a car and much more modern than the Mercedes. I think there is gap in generations here that you notice soon as you sit in the car. I do miss the V8 besides the trips to the pump but BMW did an amazing job on the Twin turbo 6 and the transmission that I feel no lack in power next to the AMG. Overall I'm very happy with the move its no less of what I already was used to in a daily sport coupe. |

Welcome aboard and congrats.
I don't think a feller or gal can do wrong with either car and, hey, you've had the fun of owning both.

No I didn't test drive the new C63s. Honestly I do not like how the C sedan looks in current generation. Unless the new C coupe looks like a mini S coupe AMG don't think I missed out on anything.

I can't get past the "saggy butt" styling of the current gen Merc's rear ends, and you're right that the sedan is about as boring as it gets from a styling perspective.

I agree the new c63 and even the GTS just don't quite make the grade for looks. The M4 is much more aggressive looking. Hopefully the black series of each will improve this issue, but than again these cars should be awesome looking without having to consider the black series. I ultimately got the AY, but I agree the SS really does show the curves off. Good luck with the car.

Update:
After some upgrades the car looks even more aggressive. I'm not missing the AMG one bit. Driving this car daily is amazing and much more rewarding so far. Last edited by mtatarian; 07-13-2015 at 08:48 PM.. |

Congrats on the M4. Love the sound of the AMG but the tranny in the C63 is crap, IMO.

Making this same transition. I liked my C63 but never really fell in love with it. Missed having a manual, could never get used to the paddles. Also felt that the pedal response was a little sluggish. That engine is awesome though.
M4 w/ 6mt is coming in August so we'll see how things go. Also your mods look awesome, getting a very similar setup installed at port (or trying to). |
