I just bought and installed the download via USB from the company that makes it.
Cost like $150-$160 to download the file, but what the heck. Probably my cheapest mod yet! The install did not go just as it said, and I had to install it twice for some reason, but it's working like a champ now.

Watching movies while driving a car should be a crime

Yes, you can play DVDs while stopped.

Playing DVDs while driving is illegal in several states. You can leave the requirement for the handbrake on, so that playing DVDs is only possible while stopped.

You can code the car to play DVD while in motion for free.
Just need to code it in. I did and it works like a charm........ Many people have done it already. |

Some of us have spouses, kids, etc. that can be entertained by this while we take a drive. Unlocking this feature does not necessarily mean the driver is watching a movie instead of the road while barreling down the highway at 90MPH. I see far worse with housewives and teenagers staring at their cell phones instead of the road everyday.

Sorry if I came off a little harsh, but I really don't like people telling me what to do with my M4 when there are so many worse things going on every day.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Can you code it so you get a full color HUD projection of the movie on the windshield?
(No, I am not serious)

I wanted to be able to listen to concerts on DVD while driving. Loaded up a Porcupine Tree DVD while sitting on the driveway and started the show and was pleasantly surprised that as I drove the concert tracks played (minus video as I haven't and most likely won't code DVD in motion).
I was disappointed though that the system doesn't seem to understand straight DVD-Audio. I have Alan Parsons Project "I, Robot" that is dual-sided and the system won't play the DVD-Audio side, but will play the DVD-video side (again if I start it up before driving off). Also tried Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" DVD-Audio with no success - incompatible format. And of course it wouldn't recognize Blu-rays...didn't hold out much hope, but dang how much more could it cost to provide that ability from the start. |

I've coded this on my previous F30 and my F80. Enjoy listening to Despicable Me while the kids and wife watch it...on the rare road trip.

I have 3 kids and a wife. Sorry, but I whole heartedly disagree with you.
True the driver shouldn't be watching, obviously, but that isn't the only person in the car. 5 seater... Means I probably will have passengers... Why the hell would I watch a movie with the car stopped? Who hangs out in their car for hours? I feel the same way about the internet option. You can only use it stopped... What?
