new user, old car, new m3

Heya all there,

i m new to your board and īd like to introduce myself to you.

i ve been directed to this site by an youtube video, yesterday. i became a big fan of the new m3 some weeks ago when i had my first ride on one
Now i m going to buy one. there are still some questions ( do they ever fade?) till i ll buy it (especially where to get it and which transmission to choose).
I m very happy that i found your forum yesterday, i use to be member at two german m3 boards and got a bit unhappy about the activity there(they are pretty boring and there are just a few posts per day). i think, i ve found a good forum here and i would be glad to become a member of this community.

As i mentioned i m from germany, therefor i īd like to apologize for my bad english, i ll try to get better, i promise

At the moment i īm driving a Porsche BoxsterS, but i ll sale it to buy the m3 in the next days (it s a nice car, i love it, but i love the m3 more ).

I already read some topics to the dct, but there are just a few information about the release of it.

i asked a bmwdealer here in germany about the release but i was just told that it would take about 4 months (instead of 6-8 weeks, which is the average waitingtime for a new bmw in germany, including the m3).
maybe someone here knows some more details.

Also i m very interested in the overallperformance of the dct. yes there a 0,2sec less from 0 to 100kmh (62mph), but what about the acceleration to 100mph (160kmh) or 150mph( 200kmh)?

Yeah, that was my first (english) post.

Welcome to the board. Your english is actually pretty good.

Glad to hear that you are thinking of getting the m3.

Here's a link to the timings of the M-DCT compared to manual.
