suggestions please
Help with ideas please. I have a stock 2013 128i convertible and would like to improve the suspension. I am used to driving a Honda S2000 CR and miss the cornering. While I realize they are very different cars , what can I do to improve handling. I do not plan on racing and like simple bolt on mods,OEM if possible. Will M sport parts work? I notice several ads from people upgrading thier factory M sport suspensions. Any ideas will be appreciated.

The two below items will get you pretty far for a street driven car.
1. M3 front control arms - turn in feel is vastly improved and the addtl. camber reduces the car's natural tendency to push a bit on entry. 2. M3 rear subframe bushings - quiets the rear down and largely removes that jumpy feeling you get from the back end when it covers an imperfection or bump in the road.

A set of good shocks and springs will do wonders. I don't think you should go to 1M/M3 front control arms. That might be a little too much for a vert's ride. Go with some Bilstein's or Koni's with a mild drop/spring(swifts or eibach). That will do wonders for the way your car rides & handles. I would also replace your rear shock mounts with Dinan's shock mount kit.
I wouldn't bother with a 135i m-sport suspension. Most likely it will be fairly worn out even with low miles(50K miles). Your better off with new shocks and springs - bc it's so much work to replace the suspension parts. After that, some Michelin PSS non-run flat tires would be my next mod. good luck, Dackel

The best thing you can do is replace the factory struts and shocks with Koni Yellows or similar. If OEM is a must, you are stuck with BMW PS. Add the M3 front control arms and rear guide rods while you are at it.

Solid bushings in which components? Control arms, subframe?

Based on advice of mine BMW Mechanic, I have changed all the Brake Drums (Rotor), Steering Arms Front and Back with new Stabilizer Linkage, the Front Hub Bearing and Back bearing, with Tyre Balancing and Alignment done by Dunlop Tyre Outreach. All parts changed are genuine BMW Parts and I am still having the same problem. Kindly advice. |

You could have a bad tire/wheel that is out of "round". Maybe try a new tire shop. One that can do "road force balancing". Dackel
