Finally found the perfect e92 M3 for me....

Searched for 3 months. Thought I was going to have to travel, but found one local. 2009 with 37K miles, 6MT, NAV, Technology and Premium Package. 1 owner. Zero sign of repainted panels.
Crappy iPhone pics. More pics to follow after I machine polish her(I'm a pro detailer).

I've swapped out to clear reflectors, matte black kidney grills and a less bulky front plate bracket. Next will be 19 x 9.5" and 11" gunmetal VMR V710's and OEM exhaust mod.

Nice find man. Make sure to do all 4 pipes of the OEM mod, more robust and some more volume than the 2 pipe mod.

(see my oem mod thread for details)

Yep, been doing it for a while and learned from the best. Swirls are present, and BMW AW paint is normally on the hard side; meaning, defets(swirls, scratches) aren't removed easily. I'll probably have to compound with a microfiber pad and my 21mm DA polisher, then follow with a foam finishing pad and finer polish with my 8mm DA polisher. I'll do a test spot to see what works best. Hopefully, I can get away with removing defects and get a nice finish in 1-step. I'll then protect with a paint coating or polymer sealant.

Okidoki Newb, and what would be your polymer sealant of choice mate? Be claying at all? (still debating whether I should but haven't found the strength, nor the reasons really as paint feel smooth as a butt but again far from a pro).

Cheers

I choose to use Optimum Car Wax. It a sprayable sealant with good durability. If your paint feels smooth, don't bother claying it. Claying will put micro fine scratches in your paint, as your rubbing contaminants against the paint. This is normal. The micro fine scratches will be removed with the machine polishing step. On light colored cars, you can sometimes get away with claying as you may not see the fine scratches. On dark colored cars, I don't recommend claying without machine polishing. An alternative to claying(not as good) is a product called IronX(google it). I'm the shade, after washing and drying your car, spray the product on the paint and let sit for 5 minutes. You will see the iron contaminats turn purple/red. After 5 minutes, rinse thoroughly.

So I ended up getting a 2012 e92 m3 black in color from valencia bmw. Wish you can give me advice since I do see some water spots and minor paint chips. I bought a 2015 x5 for the wife at long beach bmw. and once again congrats its a beauty

Wow, small world. Saw the advertisement and was at the dealership 30 minutes later.

Water sports can be removed through machine polishing. Or you can try products like these....

For rock chips, you could try this....

Punching it in 2nd gear at 2K RPM's, this car is a slug, until it reaches the upper RPM's. Still love it..haha. Other than a supercharger, not much you can do to improve low end torque?

Congrats. I have had mine for about a month and I had to learn and still learning how this car wants to be driven. I have a 2.0T FSI Passat which has low end torque but runs out of breath at the top end. This car is the other way around lol. You just have to learn to keep the revs up..

Remove stock x pipe for a catless version you will gain 25+ lb ft of torque through the entire rev range.
