Hail!!!!!!!

Guys/Girls, my car was parked outside during some thunder storms, and I unfortunately have some hail damage on the roof. Does anyone have any information on how this can be fixed by a body shop?

It appears that the hood and trunk lids are damage free. The "tap test" seems to indicate that the sheet metal is thicker on those two areas.

I knew this was statistically going to happen sometime, given how much it's parked outside. Fack sakes.

Use a good dent removal process. In the US, for example -
https://www.dentwizard.com/paintless-dent-repair.aspx

The dent removal process will be very successful. The same thing happened to me about five years ago and after the work there was no evidence of the damage.

The pricing should be far less expensive than any other solution. And the results will be better, also, given the alternatives. Unless the dents are very severe, almost creasing the metal, you do not need or want a body shop - that would mean fairly involved and invasive work.

Good luck.

CarJunkie is correct - back when I was living in Winnipeg there was a company called "Doctor Dent" that specialized in hail repairs without respray, they did good work. I'd look to see if there's anything like that in SK.

Sorry to hear about that though and hope it's an easy fix!

If you had hail in your area, the massive fleet of paintless dent removal guys will be flocking to your area.

Contact your favourite body shop and find out who they use.

We had bad hail in our area a while ago. Guys came from all over the country and set up temporarily at local body shops. Worked for 2-3 months, and went on to the next city.

same thing happened to our city, we got hit with a hail storm contacted the insurance company took the car to the panel shop only to be told that all hail damage will be done by paintless dent removal people which sets up shop in rented warehouses

they do a fantastic job, took the car back to the panel shop and they were very impressed....but do look out for plastic trim that is damaged, they will have to be replaced
