M3 Dinan Stroker 0-60

Plan on going to the wannagofast event in September so I put on some Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's for traction. What a difference they make! I just ran a 0-60 in 3.6 seconds (flat road) with an ambient temp of 88 degrees. This car should easily be good for 3.4 seconds or less at cooler temps. Say what you want about Dinan, but this car is well beyond my expectations and faster than my V10 stroker M5.

I take it your M3 is DCT. I assume your M5 is SMG. Is DCT faster than SMG? Do both make the same number of shifts to reach 60?

Yes to all the above. I still think the top end is better in the M5, but we'll see in September at wannagofast.

Wonder how the super charged e9x stack up on 0-60. Above I am sure they will spark my stroker.

Wow, nice! PSC2s, when warmed up, are an extremely grippy tire. Since I put mine on, it's harder to engage traction control intervention in MDM. Would not be surprised if tire change alone knocks .3 secs off 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. Also they're 1-2 lbs lighter than PSSs and 3-5 lbs lighter than other brands, which also helps a tad.

A lot of great enthusiasts in Atlanta. I bring one of the M's to most of the Caffeine and Octane and Caffeine and Exotics events.

Might be closer than we think. An ESS E92 M3 ran 141 in the half mile a few years ago at the wannagofast event in Clayton, GA. My M5 ran 145 at the last event there with a Density Altitude of 7000 feet. The organizer of the event has a supercharged M3, and we plan to run against each other in September, so we'll see.

the dinan differential supposedly puts down 15% more torque (mechanical advantage)... i'm sure that will help, but it may also make first gear a little tricky when trying to launch the car.

you must have a hell of a time... my M is stock (nothing really besides intake and exhaust), but i still have to take it easy in first gear when taking off in a hurry. that stroker must be a blast.

Didn't get the Dinan diff., but very pleased with it as it is. Even stock, the M3 has traction issues. These new tires make a world of difference, not perceptively breaking loose. It'll be interesting to see how they perform when it's colder outside.

Didn't anticipate the stroker being this good, and I'm thrilled to have a naturally aspirated V8 faster than the latest generation turbos

I don't know if there is a back story that I'm missing, but have you dynoed the car? The stroker is mighty impressive.

No dyno. I use my Performance Box to gauge my improvements with mods. Maybe I'm lucky and have a freak stroker engine as i don't think it should be this fast. How it performs in the half mile will be another good test. My best 0-60 when stock was 4.4, which would likely have been 4.1 or 4.2 with these sticky tires.

DCT much faster than SMG. I had SMG in my CSL and it was a riot but not at all quick.....
